A Thanksgiving Movie for the Whole Family

This post brought to you by Lifetime’s Turkey Hollow . The content and opinions expressed below are that of Cupcakes and Crinoline.

Do you have a list of favorite classic holiday movies or shows that you and your family watch every year? We do and part of getting ready for the upcoming holidays includes scheduling time to watch those shows with my husband and kids. This year we have a new movie to add to our classic list and I want to share it with you, Jim Henson's Turkey Hollow.

I am a huge fan of Jim Henson movies and shows and have wonderful memories of watching some of them with my Dad when I was growing up and with my Dad and my oldest son when he (my oldest) was a little guy. Do you remember Emmett Otter's Jug-Band Christmas? I love that movie and we try to catch it every year and that's why I'm looking forward to Turkey Hollow. It's the story of a family spending Thanksgiving with an eccentric Aunt Cly, portrayed by Mary Steenburgen, in her hometown of Turkey Hollow. The family is surprised by the lack of internet and technology there and soon spend their time tracking the Howling Hoodoo, an elusive monster that's been deemed a legend but there's more than one and they're real. Look how fuzzy and cute they are!

As the movie builds the family has to come together with some new friends (including Ludacris) to save Aunt Cly and Thanksgiving but the day and Aunt Cly are indeed saved and there is a very happy ending. I don't want to give away any more details of the movie, you'll have to watch it for yourself.

You can catch the premiere November, 21st, at 8 PM ET/PT on Lifetime and to get you ready you can watch the Turkey Hollow trailer for a chance to win a Toys"R"Us Gift Card. If you won that would help with holiday shopping, now wouldn't it? I'm sure Turkey Hollow will become one of those movies you and your family look forward to every Thanksgiving. So grab some popcorn and get ready!
