Annie Sloan Chalk Paint LOVE

I have wanted Annie Sloan Chalk Paint for over a year now...every time I saw a great furniture redo and read what they used {usually some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint} I wanted it even more.  Right before Mother's Day I decided that's what I wanted {I have all boys...I tell them what I want and usually buy it and then let them give it to me...fun, huh?}  I was all set to order some on line and then checked once again if there were any local retailers.  Every time I had in the past, there weren't any but I thought why not try once more...and....oh JOY!!!! There was one less than 15 minutes from my house.  I am so glad I checked because I met one of the nicest gals {Elaine}...she was awesome and gave me so many tips for using my new paint {as soon as she gets her website up I'll update this page}.

So, now it's time to see what's in the bag.

First out ~ a great book ~Quick and Easy Paint Transformations:  50 Step-by-Step Ways to Makeover Your Home for Next to Nothing ~  and some cheesecloth {don't you just love how it's wrapped ~ raffia bow ♥♥♥♥♥}.  The book has so many ideas and  easy to understand explanations for how to achieve the looks shown.

Next out ~ my paints and wax.  I chose Pure White, Paris Grey, Duck Egg and the clear soft wax.  I already completed one project {as soon as I get some pictures I like I'll share it with you} and have so many more in mind.  The products were easy to use, really easy, and I am so happy I finally made the decision to take a dive and get some...and so glad I found such a wonderful retailer ~ Hi Elaine!

Your gonna love it. I bought some last year and its great. No striping old paint or varnish off. You can paint right over it. Last year I did a redo on a patio table and a old sewing machine table. https://mixedkreations.com/blog/2012/06/destressed-sewing-table/
Now I'm working on an old roll top desk that I bought at a garage sale last year for $5. Had to replace the bottom front piece, the rest was in good shape.

Thanks for all of your tips, Nancy ~ I am lovin' the AS paints!

  3. Cool I want to hear about it-- I have been eyeing some AS paint myself but it's sort of pricey so I haven't taken the plunge yet!

That's why I held off for so long ~ the cost ~ but my oldest son insisted I get something I really wanted for Mother's Day so I did! So far I painted a pie safe in the kitchen and have enough left to do the shelves in my dining room and hopefully a dresser. It went on really well and the coverage was great and it's holding up to every day use.

I am so jealous! I've been wanting Annie Sloan chalk paint for a while now. I might have to be on a mission like you...LOL! I can't wait to see your project.

You're so sweet, Denyse ~ I painted a pie safe...nothing extravagant ~ the ultimate awesome redo 'gift' is not one I possess {yet!}.

Have a great week ~ Mary Beth
