Back to School Organizing
Back to School Organizing
I love to be organized but unfortunately sometimes I don't even know how or where to begin. It seems overwhelming at times. One of the many areas of my life that needs to be organized are all of the books and supplies our family uses for school. I'm a homeschooler and we usually just keep all the books and supplies in bins and boxes in the dining room {talk about an unsightly mess}~ until now!
I found this versatile library with doors from Sauder and I can't tell you how much I love it.
I went to the Sauder web site knowing I needed something to help get things organized AND look wonderful since this piece would be placed in my living room {I have a small house ~ every inch of space needs to be wisely used}. I wasn't sure which style to choose so I took the Find Your Furniture Style Quiz.
After taking the quiz it was determined that the Harbor View Collection was just my style. I then chose the area of my home where I would be placing this piece.
Once I saw the Library with Doors I was sold! It had everything I wanted. Adjustable shelves {to decorate!}, a drawer {to hold pencils, pens, and other small supplies} and doors to HIDE all of our books. The top shelf would be for my youngest son and the lower shelf for my middle son's books.
The package arrived in a large and heavy box and the UPS man was nice enough to offer to bring it into the house for me ~ I took him up on his offer!
My youngest son helped me start unwrapping it so I could get started putting it together.
I pulled out the assembly instructions and was so happy to find out I only needed a hammer and a screwdriver.
Assembly was easier than I could have imagined. Every piece was clearly marked with a sticker indicating the piece name (by letter) and this corresponded with the directions.
I assembled almost everything on the floor and found it easier to just sit inside the top section (and then turn around) to assemble as I went along.
I have a tip that really helped make things easier. When attaching certain pieces to the front side of the library you need to attach these from underneath. I was having trouble with this but had the idea to place a mirror below the piece so that I could clearly see where to insert the hardware and screws. This worked like a charm.
I put everything together all by myself which thrilled me to pieces. The only thing I needed help with was turning the piece over to attach the back and to stand it up.
I love this piece! Where could you use something like this?
