How I Decorate My Kitchen for Christmas
Grab a cup of coffee or hot cocoa and join me as I share my kitchen decor for a farmhouse Christmas.
Hello and welcome to the Room to Room Christmas hop. Today, I'm sharing my kitchen and how I have decorated it for Christmas. I am so glad I chose to share my kitchen because there is only one other area of my house decorated as I write this, my mantel, and that's it. I don't even have my tree up yet and usually every year, without fail, I decide to do something like paint, declutter, or DIY something big....it's like a strange alarm goes off in me....oh, it's Christmas, time to tear up the house. So, anyway, my dining room is a total mess right now but at least I can show you my kitchen.
My kitchen is very small, imagine a hallway and that pretty much describes it to a T. The kitchen is original to the house.....1970's yellow countertops, brown linoleum floor that I have seen in far too many episodes of 48 hours, and basic 1970's builder grade kitchen cabinets. It's plain and I do dream of remodeling it....but it's mine, and I am so thankful to God for it so even though it's dated, I love to treat it special because it is.
I'll start our mini-tour with the countertop near my sink....this is the big countertop...yes, that little area....that's the work area. 😉
I have my trusty Keurig on it because one must have access to coffee at all times and my favorite Christmas mug is ready to be filled with some liquid joy.
This little creamer is one of my favorite decorations. Every year when I pull her out, she makes me smile. I love to see her little face early in the morning when it's still dark and everyone is asleep. I only fill her with creamer when it's more than me having coffee but I still like to have her near the coffee pot because that's her job, to stand guard of the coffee, she's a "Peace" officer.
I found this little red stand last year at Target in the clearance section. I think I paid maybe $1.00 for it. I put some small jars with marshmallows and Bob's soft peppermint sticks in them atop the stand....waiting to be put in some hot cocoa.
To the left of my vintage Kenmore oven (1970's is vintage, right?) is the crock I bought at a thrift store in Chicago with a small tree in it and yes....the fan has Saran Wrap on it....otherwise, it's like a wind tunnel in my kitchen.....so, Saran Wrap it is. I also have my BLESSED letters on my lightbox...because, I'm blessed ♥
I placed a little bottlebrush tree in an old flour sifter that I painted a few years ago.
I have a vintage scale on my old dresser next to my tiered tray.
And last, but not least, one of my favorite Christmas decorations in the kitchen....
is this little Christmas tree in another crock.....with an old cabinet door behind it...
and a fluffy little faux fur throw from Ikea underneath it....
It's the house tree for now and I sort of, kind of, like it.

What a charming little kitchen!! I lived with a dated kitchen for about 15 years so I can appreciate the ability to make it look cute and make it yours (without big renovations)!! You have done that very well... without the mention of it, I wouldn't have noticed. You have it decorated so well. Happy Holidays!
Thank you so much, Kristy! I appreciate the encouragement and kind words. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
