Peanut Butter Bars from Cupcakes and Crinoline
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups flour
2/3 cup peanut butter
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup powdered sugar
1/3 cup peanut butter
1 tablespoon milk (add more if necessary to get proper spreading consistency)
Mix butter, brown sugar and white sugar together with mixer until smooth.
Add eggs one at a time and beat until smooth.
In a separate bowl combine flour,
Mix in peanut butter.
Gently add oats mixing just until incorporated.
Place batter into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan and bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes until edges are lightly browned and center is set.
Let fully cool before icing.
Mix together powdered sugar, peanut butter and milk.
Yields 24 bars
