Homemade French Toast with a Fresh Strawberry Syrup Puree
Delicious fluffy French Toast served with an easy to make fresh strawberry syrup puree
Servings 6 slices
Strawberry Syrup Puree
- 1 pint Strawberries fresh or frozen
- 1 tsp. sugar optional
Homemade French Toast
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup whole milk
- ¼ tsp. cinnamon
- ⅛ tsp. nutmeg
- ½ tsp. vanilla extract
- 6 slices bread
For the French Toast
Whish together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla.
Thoroughly soak bread in the egg mixture.
Heat butter in skillet until melted. A cast iron skillet is my preferred skillet for frying.
Add soaked bread to the skillet. Flip with a spatula once it is golden brown and cook on the other side until browned and cooked through.
Serve with the strawberry syrup and sprinkle with powdered sugar using a dusting wand if desired. Garnish with fresh strawberries.
