Add the white sugar and molasses to your food processor.
Process for about 30 to 60 seconds until the molasses is fully incorporated and the mixture is uniform in color with no streaks.
Stop and scrape down the sides if needed and process again briefly.
Use immediately in your recipe or store in an airtight container.
Notes
For dark brown sugar use 2 tablespoons of molasses instead of 1.This recipe makes 1 cup of brown sugar and can be scaled up as needed.Blackstrap molasses is not recommended here as it has a very strong bitter flavor. Use regular unsulfured molasses for the best results.Homemade brown sugar may be slightly more moist than store bought which is actually a good thing for most baking recipes.
