How to Make a Simple Hanging Dish Towel

Learn how to make a very simple hanging dish towel that requires basic sewing skills. These are easy to make in bulk and are wonderful to give as gifts.

Equipment

  • Sewing Machine
  • Scissors
  • Thread

Supplies

  • Thick White Bar Mop Towels or plain white dish towels
  • Ribbon
  • Leather Scrap

Instructions

  • Leather scrap used to add a leather loop to a kitchen towel.
  • Cut a strip from your leather scrap 4 inches long by ¾ of an
    inch wide. Use a pen to mark the size on the back of the leather. Cut 3 of
    these, 1 for each towel.

  • Pin the leather loop to the center of one of the long edges of the towel.

  • Cut a piece of ribbon and pin across a lower corner of the towel at an angle.

  • Grab your supplies and stitch!
  • I used a zig-zag stitch to attach the leather loops and the ribbon.
