Slow Cooker Queso Blanco aka Darn Good Cheesy Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion diced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 - 14.5 ounce can petite diced tomatoes drained
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 can 4.5 ounces chopped green chiles undrained
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
  • 2 pounds deli white sliced American cheese sliced

Instructions

  • Steam onions in the microwave. Place in a microwave-safe bowl, cover loosely with microwave-safe plastic wrap and microwave on high for 2 minutes.
  • Stir in garlic, drained tomatoes, milk, chopped chiles, cumin, oregano and pepper.
  • Tear cheese slices.
  • Place torn cheese into slow cooker.
  • Pour onion mixture over cheese.
  • Cover, and cook on low for 2 hours. Stir gently to blend ingredients.
