About
My earliest memories are of 'doing'....
gardening,
sewing {learning on an old Singer from the 1940's},
helping my Dad build our house {I'm sure he didn't mind one bit!?!}
painting,
crocheting {I used a big plastic needle and taught myself....oi},
using my knit magic {loved that thing} to make everyone scarfs {okay...they were tubes that looked like colons},
saving scraps of whatever to make stuff later {I hate to waste},
starting my own family newspaper {I got a kids typewriter for Christmas one year and used carbon paper for the copies},
and some other stuff along the way.
I don't have much time to create now but the feeling of wanting to create...needing to create...has never been stronger.
Most days I just look to see what others are creating and making mental notes of what I want to do
and sometimes I actually do it!

I am married.
I love my husband more today than yesterday...

I have three sons...
each so unique and so wonderful...
each bringing a smile to my face every day....
For several years I was a single mom working up to three jobs at a time...
working in an office....
missing my kids....
but now I am home...
I am a Christian...I have been for as long as I can remember.
I have not always lived the Christian life....
I would love to say that I had...but each day offers a new beginning....
and for that I am thankful.
I like to share my faith...
not insist that someone hear it
but instead that they see it in my life.
I don't pretend to have all the answers.

I am a homeschooler...updated! My youngest graduated in 2023 so I am no longer a homeschooler.
Even before I had kids I knew that I wanted to homeschool them....
It has not always been easy or convenient...
but I am thankful for this time with them....
I know they grow so quickly and each moment I have with them is such a treasure.
*updated 4/2019:: My oldest son has graduated college, my middle son is currently in college, and my baby is now several inches taller than me and finishing middle school (update...graduated!) - it has all gone by far too quickly
When I was younger I studied to be a commercial pilot.....
I love to fly...such a feeling of freedom...
I haven't flown in years...
but I may again some day.
I love to encourage people and to be encouraged...
I am very shy...
Words escape me most of the time.
I think of things to say or to write but when it comes to
putting them down on paper {or blog} or saying them
there seems to be a disconnect.....sort of a loose wire!
{I'm a hugger...that is what I resort to when the disconnect occurs!}
I love to call myself a homemaker...
to cook, bake, clean, sew, craft, garden and so much more.....
I hope you join me as I do what I can taking one day at a time, sharing my creations and thoughts.....
