For this particular post I'm sharing how I decorated some wooden spoons for an ice cream party but you can also do entire sets of wooden cutlery with this easy technique.Wooden Disposable Cutlery - a great canvas for customizing cutlery for casual entertaining. Supplies:

Set of Wood Cutlery or Wooden Spoons

Duck Tape to match your theme - there are a lots of pretty ones here but you can find different options in almost all craft stores

Non-stick scissors - not necessary but they make cutting through tape so much easier!

Cut a length of duck tape to full cover the bottom of the cutlery allowing a little extra at the bottom to overlap.  I was able to fit two spoons on each piece of tape alternating them top to bottom (see above).

Delicately cut through the tape directly up the center between each spoon.  Wrap tape to the back overlapping as necessary.

Ta da! That's all there is to it.  The Duck Tape stays on much better than washi tape and will hold up to guest use and while I have seen and even tried washi tape I much prefer the durability of the Duck Tape.

Here's to entertaining in style while keeping your sanity and some money in your wallet.
