How to Make an Embroidery Hoop Chubby Pumpkin Wreath

Beautiful autumn decor inspiration plus a simple tutorial, how-to make a chubby yarn pumpkin wreath (or garland) for autumn with yarn and an embroidery hoop!

The last few days here have been crisp and cool and that put me into the mood to start some autumn decorating.  I didn't want to start too early but once the calendar said September and the temperature was in the 50's I knew it was time.

I usually start with fall decor, then transition into Halloween, then back to fall before heading full force into Christmas. Then, the house gets boring but for now, I'm going to embrace all of the festivities and decor that goes along with it for the next few months.Fall IdeasTour- tons of fall ideas and decor inspiration by top bloggers.

Today, as part of an awesome Fall Ideas Tour I'm sharing a simple and cute Chubby Yarn Pumpkin Embroidery Hoop Wreath. I know that's a mouthful but it does describe the little porky pumpkins accurately 😉 After you check out this easy tutorial, be sure to check out ALL of the other beautiful and inspiring decor shared by some of my very favorite bloggers with links at the bottom of this post. How To Make a Chubby Yarn Pumpkin Wreath

My little wreath is super simple to make with just a few basic supplies:

Embroidery Hoop - 10 inches

Orange Yarn

One Green Chenille Stem (pipe cleaner)

Twine

Ribbon

How to make a chubby yarn pumpkin

Start by wrapping yarn around two fingers approximately 80 times.

Slide off fingers and pull a separate piece of yarn, approximately 6 inches, through the center of the yarn and tie tightly.

Fold chenille stem in half and wrap around tied off yarn.

Cut off any excess yarn tie being careful to NOT cut into the pumpkin.

Follow the above steps three times (or more if you want to make a chubby yarn pumpkin garland) and put pumpkins aside.

If making a wreath, tie twine in a bow to one side of wreath attaching pumpkins at equal intervals across hoop. Tie off twine on opposite side of hoop.

Add a pretty ribbon to the top tying in a bow and there you have it. A Chubby Yarn Pumpkin Embroidery Hoop Wreath. Now, how easy was that?
