Christmas Trees on Cars

Christmas Trees on Cars Graphic 1It's that time of year again - time to start decorating (or at least start crafting) to get ready for the holidays ahead.  Last year I was part of a blog hop titled "Trees on Cars" and it was so much fun that we decided to do it again this year.

It's such a cute theme but sometimes coming up with ideas is hard.  I was thinking and losing sleep (visions of little VW's with trees atop them kept looping in my dreams) and I just couldn't come up with something.

I was out with my youngest son once again hitting different stores looking for inspiration when I saw the cutest little ornament of a tree on a vintage-looking truck, and it was only $2.00.  Ka-ching! Into my cart it went (I could have carried it to the checkout but I had a cart so I used it....it would have been silly not to).

By the time I got home, after having an extensive conversation with myself in the car, I knew what I was going to do.Trees on Cars resizedI created a pure white background using a sheet and then placed the truck in the center and started taking pictures - beauty shots 😉

Trees on Cars Watercolor PrintOnce I was done taking pictures I chose a shot I liked and created a watercolor print of the cutie.  Trees on Cars Watercolor Print from cupcakesandcrinoline.com

Here's where the process gets sketchy.  I had plans...oh so many plans.  Little watercolor Trees on Cars stickers for Christmas cards, gift tags for gifts and little prints for picture frames that would be strewn across my Christmas tree....then....the ink in my printer ran out and the replacement cartridge is $90.00.....so I had one print made at CVS (glossy only...I wanted a matte finish but you do what you gotta do) and planned on framing it for pictures....but that's another story so I'll only be sharing it here today unframed but FREE to download and print out on your own.  I'm hoping to update this post with all of the other goodies for a Trees on Cars kit so check back in a few days for those free printables/downloadables as well!
