Spring Decorating
I started my spring decorating today and began in the dining room. My table is all ready for spring and Easter. While I love elegant decorating I also have to be practical. My home is small, the kitchen is a galley kitchen and the dining room table is THE table in the house so I can't have anything too elaborate or too space consuming on the table.
A few days ago I went to the Thrift Store and found this awesome little pot WITH its lid for only $2.99. This was the anchor piece for my table.
The base was the burlap I have been using for almost a year now ~ it is so versatile. I added some flowers ~ a fresh bunch from Aldi's {$3.99}, an African Violet and a silk lilac sprig.
I used my new pot and lid from the Thrift Store to hold the fresh flowers as well as an antique Atlas Mason jar and another Thrift Store find from a few months ago, a milk glass vase. The African Violet is in a plantar from the Dollar Tree and the lilac sprig in in a small test-tube like vase held by a wood-carved bunny.
I like to add some unexpected little accents to my decor ~ it makes the kids smile and me! I added a little pipe cleaner peep to the robin blue eggs and a fabric bunny to the center of the yellow bouquet.
Next I added some dollar bin tins from Target from a few years ago and some other little touches from years gone by.
The little bunny below is my favorite decoration ~ look at her little face! She was in my Easter basket when I was a girl and always makes me think of my mom....love this little cutie!
This little bunny & chick salt and pepper set is a new addition ~ from the dollar bins at Target {$3.00}.
And the table is complete with a little after dinner reading ~ a little book about Baby Chickies!
I hope you enjoyed my spring table ~ have a beautiful week.

Mary Beth, your table looks so fresh and pretty! I love that white pot! You are so on the ball with Spring, I have to get moving. Thanks for sharing such lovely inspiration. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Love your bright cheery table. So fun.
Thank you so much! 🙂
Your table is so bright and cheerful, Mary Beth. I bet your family loves sitting down to meals there. In fact, I'd be so taken with the decor, I might not get around to eating. My friend buys flowers at Aldi all the time. Great prices.
Happy Spring! It hit 50 today...I think we're on the way!!
Happy Spring to you as well, Diane ~ and yesterday was so nice. We actually went to church and didn't have to take our big bulky coats...it was so nice to be out and about without freezing!
Have a wonderful Sunday.
Hugs,
Mary Beth
Sounds like my dining room table, it is the hub of activity in our house too. Your tablescape is soooo cute 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend!!

Thanks, Tanya ~ I have to be careful I don't put anything too fragile out for display....my boys would knock it over in no time!
You have a great weekend as well.

Thanks so much, Tammy ~ I usually decorate for Easter but this year I "Sprung" it up a little, too!

it's a lovely spring and Easter display. Thank you for sharing your lovely blog at the Thursday Favorite Things blog hop xo
I just love your cute oh so Spring centerpiece vignette...love how you used the enamelware pot for a great flower container!....
Thanks so much, Shirley! I love that little pot ~ I want to use it in the garden but I don't want it to get rusty so I need to do some brainstorming with that option.
Have a wonderful week!
Mary Beth
I adore your pot of daisies! I'd love to feature it with a photo and link back in our Spring roundup on Wednesday. Let me know if you'd prefer I didn't!
That is so very nice of you ~ thank you so much and of course I would love to be part of your Spring roundup.
