Unclutter Your Kitchen with Jars
Cupcake Wrapper and Other Kitchen Storage Ideas Using Jars
If you have a small kitchen with limited storage it can be hard when it comes to organizing.
You need a place for everything but sometimes that's just not possible.
One option is to decorate using pretty jars. This is a great way to unclutter.
You can leave the jars out on countertops or shelves, easily see what's inside of them and if you group items by color or purpose you can create an interesting flow that's eye-catching and pretty.
Storage Jars
I had a large vintage looking jar that I had bought a few years ago and I had never used it.
I originally intended to put it in my craft room and use it to hold ribbon, ric rac, etc., which would be great, but I had a real need for smarter organizing in my kitchen and that's where organizing with glass jars can be a pretty and inexpensive option.
Rather than having cupcake wrappers in a big zip-lock it is much easier to see what I have and to keep the wrappers from getting damaged, bent, or smashed.
I found the other, smaller jars, at Target in the Dollar Spot and added cookie cutters and cookie stamps to those. I found that I don't keep buying new cupcake wrappers for every holiday and occasion because with just a glance I can see what I have.
Do you have any other ideas for using jars for storage? I'd love to hear them!
That is a cute idea. I bought several of those square type jars at a thrift store the other day with Rachel. They are quite large but I just loved the shape and thought they would look really good displayed with homemade canned goods. There is a great big antique pickle jar at one of the shops in the next town over that I keep thinking about getting to put in my new kitchen. I keep buying pickles in the gallon jugs for the kids and they go through them so fast, I think I am going to buy it and fill it with pickles, what it was intended for, and display it in our new kitchen. Keep the great ideas coming, you inspire us all!
I love hearing about your finds...decorating for your new kitchen sounds like so much fun! : )

I have a love of cupcake wrappers too. I didn't realize my obsession until I was reorganizing all my baking stuff this last week. I too decided they need to be in a jar in my kitchen. But sadly for me, I don't have a fabulous jar lying around and am now on the hunt for a perfect one. I love yours!
So pretty!
Great display idea!

Love this idea! My friend and I found some vintage wrappers at a local thrift shop, and I never could figure out what to do with them. Putting them in the jar would protect them from dust and grease.

I've loved those jars for years. Back in the 70's I paid $1.69 for them and used them to store various flours and other kitchen commodities. The other day in Wal-mart I saw some that were about 1/4 the size--and at least 4 times the price.
Still, they are a classic shape, no matter their size!
My kids got me a jar just like this with sayings on them about things they remember doing as a family for Mother's Day a couple of years ago. I now use it to hold my tea bags. (We drink alot of iced tea.) I wish I had more of them.
I'm always on the look-out for more but so far no luck.
I am right with you {love papers} of all kinds. I store my cupcake liners like that. Just the other day I wanted to buy some pretty floral ones & I let my young daughter talk me out of it. She said I still have liners. You know at some point I will get them or other spring liners to drop in there 😉 I love your jar. Mine isn't vintage but I am on the look out for some.
Thanks for stopping by, Theresa ~ I'm with you. I love papers ~ I have far too many journals, notebooks, cardstock and cupcake liners *sigh*
I hope you find a vintage jar soon.
Hugs,
Mary Beth
You can find these jars at Marshalls. I use mine for the cupcake cups also for chocolate chips, small bottles of vanilla (and others) and any baking supplies that fit in the jar. I have jars of all sizes. Pasta looks great and you can tell at a glance what kind to cook.
Great tips, Linda! Thank you so much.
YOU DO HAVE AWESOME KITCHEN IDEAS !!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!
Thank you so much, Paula!
NO, NO THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU HAVE HELPED ME & SO MANY OTHERS ON THE QUEST TO A BETTER HOME!!!
I save jars once I have used up the contents. I was them and put them in that useless cupboard above the fridge. They come in handy for all sorts of storage.
That's a great idea, Cynthia! Thank you for sharing. xo
I also had a couple of those jars that I had for years and just never did anything with them they just moved with me wherever I moved and I love to cook so I had to move into a kitchen that was quite a bit smaller than what I’m used to and I found that keeping my posters separated and in these jars I can always have plenty on hand and I also have a lot of different flours That I use so I keep them in those jars with the lids on them and that’s just in my kitchen
You have so many good uses for your jars, Dee! Thank you so much for sharing them.
