When do you start planning your Halloween décor?

I don’t think it’s ever too soon to not only put a plan together but to start buying what you want so you’re ready to decorate your space when you get the urge to do it!

I’m still putting the finishing touches on this year’s plan together, but I do have a theme and a starter piece of décor.

Haunted Pumpkin Patch Halloween Inflatable - blown up and lit up at dusk

My inspiration is this adorable inflatable from Sunnydaze Décor, the Haunted Pumpkin Patch.

I received my inflatable and gave it a test run when I finally had a break in rainy weather and it was so cute, easy to set up, and the perfect piece of Halloween décor to create an entire mood around…all sticking with the Haunted Pumpkin Patch theme, of course.

I picked a place for it…which will probably change the closer we get to Halloween, and laid it out. I fluffed it a bit, and then plugged it in!

Once it was inflated, I noticed how the little characters, the jack-o-lanterns, the ghostly spirit, and the skeleton boy all had their own unique ‘facial’ expressions which made them so much fun to work with.

The skeleton boy (front and center) appears to be frightened or startled by something to his right and that was my signal to place him in an area where I can put something spooky to the left of the inflatable…..

or, this huge inflatable tarantula spider!

Both would definitely be something that would scare me…or, at least cause me to look…and stare…and then run!

I’m going to get my youngest son’s input as to which one he thinks would go best with the scene I’m trying to create. since he seems to be a pro when it comes to scary stuff.....

but, in thinking about it since I’m going for haunted, the Diabolical Ghost may be the way to go.

I’m also going to place small hay bales on each side of the Haunted Pumpkin Patch inflatable and put stacks of pumpkins on the bales, this Frightening Ghost metal statue on one side, and potted mums, more pumpkins, and maybe this metal jack-o-lantern on the other side.

I’ll be placing some faux spider webs on the bushes behind the inflatable as well and some little cheesecloth ghosts and probably purple miniature lights but, since the inflatable lights up I’m not sure if I’ll be putting lights up or not…that’s still debatable.

There will also be flags, scarecrows, maybe the giant tarantula by the door just to make things even more spooky!

That’s my plan right now…all I have to do is wait to put it all out and watch it come together.
