Make Your Own Apothecary Jar

 DIY Apothecary Jar

Dollar Store Challenge

I have a thing for jars.  Not just Mason Jars....any jar.  I have a big box in my garage full of spaghetti sauce jars, jam jars, iced coffee jars....just about any jars you can think of.  I love them and can't bear to get rid of a good jar.

For this little apothecary jar I started with two items from the Dollar Tree ~ a glass candle holder and a small, decorative lidded jar. I made it as part of the Dollar Store Challenge for the month.

Other Supplies:

Paint - Folk Art Metallic Gold and Ceramcoat Pink

E6000

Ribbon and embellishments

I started by using my finger to swirl some gold paint on the bottom of my candleholder and allowed that to dry.

While this was drying I added some craft paint to the inside of my jar and swirled it around and then turned it upside down to dry.

Once the bottom of the candleholder was dry I added some gold paint to the top {where you would place the candle} and to the inside of the jar lid.

Once everything was dry I used the E6000 to glue the base of my jar to the top of the candleholder.

Other than drying time, it only took about 5 minutes total time to make and I really love how it turned out.  I'm not sure where I'll be putting it ~ probably my bedroom, but for now it's on my desk....I like looking at it!

You can check out some of my other jar crafts here.

I linked this up at this month's challenge ~ check it out for more Dollar Store Challenge inspiration!
