Hi Rachel, I would recommend at least once a week but twice a week would be even better and, if you have small children and pets, I would recommend every other day. My kids are older now and I no longer have any pets but I still find that twice a week is my household's minimum. One of my dog's was a black lab/chow mix and she shed a lot so I usually vacuumed daily when I had her, not the entire house, but the areas she frequented.
