Coffee Filter Flowers and Poms Poms and a Great Family Gift Idea

The clock is really ticking and if you are stumped as to what to buy either for that certain someone or as a family gift I am here to help you!  Just the other day I received the Keurig 2.0 and my family has been loving all of the variety it offers.  It's the perfect brewing system whether you are a coffee lover (that's me ~ if you've been reading my posts or following me on instagram you already know that!), a hot cocoa lover {my boys}, a tea lover {all of us at one time or another} or a cold drink lover then this is the perfect gift.  You can brew one cup at a time using the K-Cup packs and there are over 400+ beverage varieties to choose from {you won't get bored} or you can choose to brew an entire carafe of the same flavor using K-Carafe packs.  This way when the you have friends or family over and you all want to chat over a cup of coffee you can make a fresh pot easily.  I also purchased a reusable filter so I have always have access to coffee! 

I set up a festive little area for the family to enjoy the lights of the tree and gather around the table enjoying our favorite beverages along with conversation.

My husband enjoys a nice hazelnut coffee and he got the first cup.Then the boys each had a hot cocoa with marshmallows and peppermint sticks.  Don't the snowman and Santa look happy getting all filled with some fresh hot cocoa?

I never noticed until yesterday that it's really important to STARE and not break eye contact with the marshmallow until it starts to melt....I think it is a mind control matter....not sure though...I think I'll have to study this further.  😉 

I added this picture because well....he's my baby and he looked really cute drinking his hot cocoa and eating his head-sized marshmallow.

I had my coffee ~ Starbucks Pike Place Roast for me {this was the first time I tried it ~ oh my goodness.....it is my NEW favorite}.  I added a cream wafer roll because gift wrapping is a hard job {and I'm a chocolate addict}.

Now for the gift giving ~ I'm giving a Keurig 2.0 to someone who shall remain nameless {until they get the gift} and I wanted to wrap it giving some hints on the wrap itself.  

I used kraft paper ~ which is my favorite gift wrap.  You never  have to worry if you have just the right wrap on hand....you just customize this baby and you're all set.  I used a black permanent marker and a gold paint marker (the gold didn't show up on my pictures but it's there).  I wrote down clues that all pertain to coffee.  Don't talk to me::Good Morning::Robust::French::Italian::Fresh::Smooth, etc.!

For the gift topper I made a Coffee Filter Pom Pom since I won't been needing these puppies anymore!

1.  Grab 8 paper filters and fold accordion style.

2.  Pinch in center and tie with twine or string so that it looks like a bow tie.

3.  Fan up the layers and you have what looks like a pom pom or a flower.  Aren't they pretty?  {if you like recycling projects I made something similar with old newspaper}.

Don't forget to give some K-Carafe Packs and some K-Cup packs to your gift recipient to get them through the next few days.  

It wasn't until I was wrapping the gift that I noticed all of these varieties available....I see something for everyone!  What are your favorite hot beverages this time of year and what do you like to add to yours?
