DIY Farmhouse Style Serving Tray
DIY Galvanized Metal Farmhouse Serving Tray
When you look around your house what are the items that you use most often to decorate with?
I have a lot of serving trays and tiered stands but I can always use more. A few weeks ago I saw the cutest little footed tray on Hunt and Host and decided I needed to make one for myself. It literally takes 5 minutes to make and it's not expensive at all! I made mine for under $5.00.
What Size Tray?
I wanted a small tray so that I could use it on my desk for flowers, to hold my makeup in my bedroom or to use it to serve coffee when it's just my husband and I enjoying a little bit of time alone outside but you can certainly make this in any size you wish.
How-To
Supplies:
Galvanized Tray {I bought mine at Hobby Lobby for half-off} 7 ¼ inches x 10 inches by 1 ¼ inches
Wood Ball Knob 1 ½" Wipe off the bottom of your tray. If it feels as though it's coated with anything that may make it hard for the glue to adhere properly you may want to use an alcohol swab to clean it off. Paint or stain 4 of the wooden ball knobs in the finish of your choice. Wait until dry before proceeding with the next step.
Attach one knob at a time to the bottom of the tray with the E6000. Keep the tray upside down while it dries.Once dry, use your tray for whatever your heart desires.
I placed some fresh flowers and small items from the house in mine but right now as I sit here typing this, the flowers have faded and my little tray is empty.....but I'm thinking that some of my vintage napkins...... or handkerchiefs or maybe some old love letters tied in ribbon would look pretty sitting in it.
What would you put in it?
So beautiful! ♥
I would use this lovely tray for fresh fruits or small pots with herbs.
