Dulce De Leche Cheesecake Pops
Nestle Dulce De Leche Cheesecake
The holidays are the perfect time to make a list of people who you would like to let know they are thought of, cared about or loved and what better way to share your appreciation for them than with something home baked by you!
You can make these delicious and festive cheesecake pops quickly and easily using the Nestle Dulce De Leche baking kit.
I found mine at my local Walmart in a special area with other Holiday
I bought two boxes and made one Dulce De Leche Cheesecake for a special family treat and another to make some Cheesecake Pops to Pay it Forward.
These pops would be a great way to thank the Worship Team at my Church. They are a wonderful group of people who give up so much of their time to make our Church services rock with amazing worship and they deserve a treat! These pops were so easy to make that I would have plenty of time to make them for our local volunteer firemen and some neighbors to boot!
Dulce De Leche Cheesecake Pops
Ingredients:
One baked Nestle Dulce De Leche Cheesecake, cooled, wrapped and frozen for at least 3 hours - you can use any flavor cheesecake you would like or even substitute your own homemade cheesecake recipe 🙂
2 cups each/White Chocolate Chips and Milk Chocolate Chips
4 tablespoons Shortening
Christmas Sprinkles and Jimmies
1. Once your cheesecake has been frozen for at least 3 hours, remove it from the freezer and use an ice cream scoop or spoon to scoop out pieces of your cheesecake, crust and all.
2. Working quickly shape into balls. It's important to shape them but not roll them. You want your cheesecake balls to stay as cool as possible. Place onto cookie sheet lined with waxed paper and insert lollipop stick into center bottom.
3. Place back into the freezer for 1 hour.
4. Melt your chocolate chips ~ 2 cups of each with 2 tablespoons of shortening. Microwave your chips and shortening uncovered in a microwave-safe bowl on medium-high (70%) power for 1 minute, stir. If necessary continue microwaving at 10 to 15 second intervals stirring each time.
5. Remove 12 {one-half} of your cheesecake balls from the freezer and dip in melted chocolate adding sprinkles and jimmies as desired before the chocolate sets. I dipped the cheesecake balls down into my melted chocolate so that it covered the part where the stick and the cheesecake met giving the pops more stability. Place on wax paper lined cookie sheet and return to freezer until ready to gift and then do your second set.
Gifting
I buy containers at Thrift Stores and Antique Shops when I think they are a good deal ~ I keep these on hand to give as gifts or to give gifts in.
For this particular gift I used an antique Cheese Box but you could just as easily use a sturdy cardboard box or a tin that you buy from just about any craft store or Walmart, etc. Place tin foil in bottom and up the sides of your box if you are using an antique/thrift store find. Next, cut to size a piece of styrofoam and place in your container.
Poke your cheesecake pops into your foam and add ribbons around the sticks for extra flare! I also added some fresh greens from a tree in my yard and some pinecones. Lasty, I added a big red ribbon around the box and inserted a Seasons Greetings tag that I had taped to a lollipop stick.
