5 Minute Christmas Tree Art

We're in that glorious time of the year where we celebrate Thanksgiving and then Christmas! It is my favorite time, without a doubt, but I sometimes tend to feel a bit overwhelmed by the idea of decking the halls...and feeding the hoards...and keeping the house clean. I do enjoy the decorating and creative process, though, and if you're like me, you'll love this easy-to-make Christmas Tree Art that takes a total, seriously, of about 5 minutes to make.

And, there's even more Christmas Cricut Craft inspiration at the end of this post, links to all 11 of the above awesomeness!

Christmas Tree Cut File - you will need Cricut Design Space to access this file
Frame with glass insert - I used a 12 x 12 frame
Background paper or fabric- plain white paper, corkboard, chalkboard (You can use any background you would like and that would fit your decor)

Add the background of choice to your frame between the glass and the back.

I originally wanted to use a chalkboard background but it was just too dark so instead, I used plain white cardstock and then swapped it out with corkboard cardstock. You can see both options and outcomes in the pictures throughout this post. I'm not sure which I liked better, I'm still deciding.

Open up the cut file, prep your machine following the onscreen prompts and cut out your vinyl.

Place the vinyl tree on top of the glass and you're done!

If you don't like the background, switch it out. So easy.

I like the look of the plaid but I think it would also be so pretty to do a gold glitter tree against a white glitter background. The possibilities are literally limitless and you can match it to whatever your Christmas decor theme is this year...and then swap it out for next year.

You could also use the cut as an iron on for some cute Christmas sweatshirts, tote bags, or t-shirts or you could make a simple Christmas card with the tree. Just adjust the size as desired.

  3. I LOVE your plaid tree... it has a little personality with its slight lean. So fun! You know... I think I favor the white background. Just feels fun and snappy and a little Scandi. And yes gold would be fab too! xoxo
