FabFitFun Box - Is it Right for You?

Have you seen the FabFitFun unboxings and ads and wondered if it was right for you? If you should give it a try? If it was really worth it or if it was a lot of fluff? If you have, you're not alone. I wondered, too, and now I'm two boxes into my year subscription and wanted to share my honest thoughts with you.

FabFitFun - Reality vs. Hype (is FabFitFun really worth it???)

Pinterest photo of a fabfitfun box with Venus Williams magazine cover on top of it and the text, fab fit fun, is it worth it? An honest review from an over 40 boy mom with no time or money to waste.

To be honest, I'm not that comfortable with spending money on myself. I don't ever have a problem when I see other people doing it. I get excited for them but when it comes to me, sometimes, treating myself is totally out of my comfort zone.

Not only that but (and it's a BIG BUT) I was skeptical if the box was actually as good as it seemed to be and I didn't want to waste money on something frivolous if it was all hype and no substance.

I had purchased other subscription beauty-type boxes and found more often than not I canceled the subscription at the first opportunity because the products weren't what I expected and/or I did not like the idea of having so many tiny sample products in my bathroom. They were only $10.00 so I shouldn't have expected much and subscribing was an impulse...ugh, but this time, I wanted it to be different.

If I was going to do this, I wanted a subscription box that would be something I looked forward to receiving and that would have products I wouldn't ordinarily buy...something really worth the money, new to me, and something that made me feel special so I thought I would give FabFitFun a try.

I didn't want to spend the money on myself....like I said above, but when my oldest son asked me what I wanted for Christmas, instead of my usual, "anything you get me will be just fine....but I don't want you spending your money", I actually said, "I know exactly what I want" and I sent him the link to FabFitFun. I must say, he was a little shocked but very happy that he could get me something I really, really wanted.

My box came before Christmas but I agreed to wait and open it on Christmas morning. When I opened it, was absolutely thrilled. Really! Everything was full size (no samples to squeeze out of little tubes) and I couldn't wait to start trying it all. I did have to wait, though, until the next day but I was truly excited to start testing and trying the products. That first box was $10 off but even at full price, it would have been worth it.

I did not cancel my subscription like I thought I might and look forward to every box. I've gotten two so far and I want to show you what I got in the Spring 2019 Box first since these photos are better, and I did a video, too, but at the end of this post, I also have a picture of the Winter 2018 Box (my Christmas gift).

The video goes into more detail as far as the specifics of what was in the box and a brief description of each item.

I think the box is an amazing value and I am trying full-size products that I would not ordinarily buy and in the process, I am finding products that I will buy again.

Questions to Ask Yourself if You're Still Not Sure If FabFitFun is Right for You?

  • Do I enjoy trying new things?
  • Am I comfortable using products (hair masks, skin exfoliators, perfume, etc.) without seeing the product in person first or talking to someone who has already tried it?
  • Is the cost, $49.99 every 3 months, not in my budget or more than I'm willing to spend on products that I'm not familiar with?
  • Am I willing to give everything (or almost everything) in the box a try?
  • Do I like high-end items but have champagne taste on a soda pop budget?

My responses:

  • Yes, I LOVE to try new things!
  • I am comfortable trying products that I know very little about and the products in the box are easily searchable via Google so I can see for myself whether or not they received good reviews before I try them.
  • The $49.99 isn't something I have in my budget but my oldest son said he would keep the subscription going so that I would always get something I wanted for the big holidays like Christmas, Mother's Day, and my birthday.
  • I have enjoyed trying everything and yes, I have tried EVERYTHING!
  • I do like high-end items and have champagne taste so the boxes feel like a HUGE splurge but for the price of one box, the value I get is totally worth it.

Is FabFitFun REALLY Worth the Money?

Yes, yes, yes!

All of this to say that I liked it so much, I applied to be an affiliate and I truly don't want to share anything with you that I don't think is worth it.

Thank you, Diane! I love the kimono and water bottle, too. I use that little bee bottle almost daily especially with the weather getting warmer I just grab it and throw it in my tote.
