Out of the Box Ease of Use
I must admit that when it comes to using new products, I get nervous worrying that the process of set up and actually creating something may be too overwhelming. However, that has not been the case with either my HTVRONT Auto Heat Press or the HTVRONT Auto Tumbler Heat Press Machine.
Almost everything you need to get started is in the box including a quality pair of heat resistant gloves and a roll of heat resistant tape. The only additional item that I needed to create my first sublimation project were 20 ounce straight skinny tumblers.
I also chose to use two pre-made designs for my initial tumblers, read the instructions (very straightforward) and dove in.
As a side note, the reason I purchased pre-made sublimation transfers was because I am having a hard time choosing a sublimation printer (they're somewhat expensive and can only be used for sublimation....no other printing!).
If HTVRONT were to make one, I would definitely consider a purchase since I have had nothing but good experiences with their other products. That being said I wanted to take a small step into the sublimation world and purchasing pre-made transfers was the way to go.
The process itself is very simple. First, tape your transfer in place and set aside. I followed this YouTube tutorial regarding taping the transfer and it worked extremely well....no ghosting and no seams, which is perfect...you don't want either of those to show on your tumbler.
Next, set the temperature and time on the Auto Tumbler Heat Press. For this stainless steel tumbler the magic numbers were temp 385 degrees F and the time was 120 seconds. I used these settings for both tumblers that I made.
Once the temperature has been reached, insert your tumbler. Be sure to wear the heat resistant gloves to keep your hands safe. When the tumbler is in place, press the start button and then wait!
When the heat press opens (it's all automatic!), remove the tumbler, again, wearing gloves for protection. It will be HOT. I placed mine on a cork trivet to cool off.
Once cool, remove the transfer and admire what you've created!
The transfer was vivid, clear, and fully set. I have been using the above tumbler daily and washing it daily and it still looks brand new. No wear. No tear and a fully set transfer.
I had so much fun and it was so easy that I went ahead and made a second tumbler.
