Fun Happy Father's Day Free Printables
I think so many people grow up thinking that their Dad is their hero for good reason. Being a Dad is a hard job. My Dad was my first hero. He worked so hard for our family but he always took the time to be with us. He made everything so much fun ~ I remember always laughing so hard when I was with him and feeling so very loved. If he told me everything would be okay, I knew it would be. Growing up with a feeling like that is something to truly be treasured.
World's Best Dad
When my two older sons were younger I went through a divorce and I was so worried that they would never have a Father influence in their life. My father passed away when I was pregnant with my second son and my sister's husband passed away when my second son was only 2-years-old. I thought that the chance of them having a good and healthy 'guy' influence (let alone a Father) in their life was something they would always be missing.....but then......
My second husband came along. He was young and a bit wild but he loved my boys......one day he was spending time playing with my then youngest who said, out of the blue, "Can I call you Daddy?". At that time my husband and I were just dating so he said, "just a minute", ran in and told me what had happened. At first, my heart sank but then he said, "If you're okay with it, I am....I would love for him to call me Daddy". That, right there, was one of those oh my heavens I love him moments.

A few years later we got married and shortly after we had our own son. My husband NEVER treated our son any differently than he treated my two older sons. As a matter of fact, he always has referred to them all as OUR BOYS. That is such a gift and the reason that my husband is a hero not only to me but to OUR BOYS.
The other day we went shopping at Target for Father's Day gifts. My husband is pretty easy to shop for....he likes just about anything and everything but my oldest son insisted on getting him mostly food {we ALL love food} and something for fun. We (not me really...I just pushed the cart and nodded) picked a tray to marinade meat in, a hamburger press, a little hick-a-ma-jig that lets you stuff burgers (guys are into that sort of stuff), Steak Jerky, jalapeno crackers (EEEK!), cookies, the ingredients to make s'mores plus some new s'more skewers and some dessert mixes for them to make with Dad {probably when I'm not around!}.
The something fun was a pretty easy choice ~ my husband loves to spend time with the boys around our fire pit sitting and talking, playing football, taking walks around our neighborhood with the kids and he loves to grill for us all.
That being said, most of the time we're running late so grilling time, football time, walking time and fire pit time are spent in the dark ~ in order to 'shed some light' on the grilling, walking and football especially we chose a headlamp for my husband.
The plan the other night was for s'mores around the fire pit....the boys were all ready....and then it rained.
Not wanting to disappoint the kids my husband put on his headlamp, lit a candle in the living room (I had a fire extinguisher nearby!) and they started to make s'mores....see that flaming orb or sugar above? 😉
The kids also wanted to plan some movie night fun with their Dad....

Here is a video of two of my guys and my husband having some fun!
What a great post Mary Beth! You are so blessed to have had such a wonderful dad and now your boys are enjoying the love of their father as well.
Thank you so much, Diane! My Dad was pretty wonderful and you are right, I am very blessed that my boys have such a good Dad as well. xoxo
What a beautiful story. I love reading about men who prioritize the children, too. Your husband sounds like an amazing man. S'mores inside wearing Energizer Headlights is genius! What a fun way to go "campaign" inside! Your printables are fantastic - I may use them in Father's Day gift baskets this year, too! #client
Thank you, Emily! Our weather seems to be nice this weekend so hopefully my guys will be able to do some s'mores outside and my husband can properly 'scare' them in the great outdoors (in this case, a small back yard).
p.s. I'm glad you like the printables!
Your hubby sounds wonderful and truly loves your boys! I love this head light, Ray would have so much fun with it for all the DIY projects he does!
Thanks so much, Kristin! I'll bet Ray would like it and your boys as well. *hugs*
My husband gave me the same Energizer Headlamp for Christmas. It is so handy for DIY jobs where I need both hands to work and don't have a third to hold a flashlight.
We've been taking turns with the headlamp ~ it is such a great handy gadget to have around. I am probably going to get some more for my kids for summer play. Thanks so much for stopping by!
These are great ideas - and such cute printables!
