How To Make an Awesome Chandelier with Yogurt Jars
Are you looking for ways to reuse those adorable Oui yogurt jars? If you have a box or bag full of them like I do, here is a super cute way to use them as part of a DIY chandelier that's great not only for Christmas but year-round with just a few simple adjustments.
Hello friends! Are you starting to get ready for Christmas? If you are and you're looking for some DIY inspiration you are in the right place. Today, I'm posting a simple to make chandelier using Oui yogurt jars and a few basic supplies as part of the #CreativeChristmas series on Remodelaholic. Be sure to check out their week-long link party for any and all Christmas projects right here.
How to Make a Chandelier from Yogurt Jars
Supplies:
One 14-inch metal ring - I bought mine at Hobby Lobby for $1.80 with a coupon (regular $2.99)
Package of metal craft wire
Battery operated votive lights
Craft Bells (I purchased mine at Hobby Lobby)
Ribbon - 3 yards
Faux Garland 6 feet (Dollar Spot at Target)
Instructions:
Wrap garland around wire hoop fluffing as needed.
Cut ribbon into three equal lengths as long as needed to hang at the right height.
Attach ribbon at equal intervals to the wire hoop making sure to use strong knots to hold everything securely.
Gather all three ribbons at the top and tie into a secure double knot.
Feed an S-hook through the top knot to hang your chandelier.
Next, we move on to adding the Oui jars.
Wrap the craft wire around the jars several times making sure it is wrapped somewhat tightly. You don't want the jar to slip through the wire - that wouldn't be good!
Leave a "tail" of about two inches to wrap around the hoop.
When wrapping the jars with wire add bells to some or all of the jars as desired. I only added it to two of the jars and then it hit me how these would make cute reindeer so I think I have another project to work on soon.
Add the jars to the wreath at equal intervals using the "tail" to attach.
Attach all five jars to your hoop/chandelier.
Add a good amount of snow to each jar.
Add tea lights to each jar.
Add crystals wherever you want.
Hang your chandelier....
And enjoy!

I really couldn't love this more! A place for my yogurt cups, something sparkly and a hanging wreath? Swoon thank you!
You are so sweet, Cassandra! Thanks so much.
This is so creative! It turned out beautifully.
Thank you so much, Sarah!
I love this! It's very Swedish looking...and so very festive. I do love yogurt...but haven't had the Oui yet...guess I need to give it a try....if for no other reason that for the sweet jars.
Oh, Lynn, the yogurt is my favorite. You really should try it. I get the strawberry when I can. Thanks so much for stopping by!
What a clever upcycle, and it's beautiful, too!
Thank you so much, Lorene!
What a clever idea to make them into a chandelier. I love fake snow that seems to glow when the candles are on. So pretty!
Thank you so much, Toni! I love the fake snow and candlelight glow as well. I would love to have it all around my house. Have a wonderful holiday season.

Oh my goodness, this is just darling!! Mary Beth, you rocked the creativity meter right over the top!! You know me and Oui jars... now I just have to figure out how I can carry this off in my little space.
I am so glad you like it, Diane! You're the one that turned me on to Oui. I had never heard of it before you.
What a fantastic upcycle of yogurt jars. Your chandelier looks amazing, I bet it's even lovelier at night with the lights on. I just love illuminated decorations at Christmas.
Thank you so much, Claire! It is much prettier at night but unfortunately, my nighttime photography isn't that great or else I would share a photo of it and I agree....I love illuminated decorations at Christmas.
