Wrapping Tips
1. When wrapping gifts I make a list of what I need for next year ~ wrapping paper, bags {sizes ~ extra-large, large, medium, small}, tissue paper {white or colored}, gift card holders, gift tags, ribbon, and bows.
I also write down if I have TOO much of any one specific thing so that I don't stock up on this. I keep a copy of this list on my iPhone and also place a written copy paper clipped to my October calendar of the following year. That way, if I see something on sale this year I can pick it up and cross it off my list but if I don't, I have plenty of time next year to stock up on what I need hopefully making use of coupons.

2. I place all Christmas Cards received in a nice bundle and update my Christmas Card list for next year changing addresses if necessary {save your envelopes as you get your cards and verify return addresses before discarding}.
I also make note of whether or not I need to buy {or make} more Christmas Cards for next year. Now is a great time to pick up cards at 50% {or more} off.
Organize Decorations
3. Label Christmas décor bins so you know exactly what is in each bin. You can use labels for this or just take inventory and tape a paper list to the outside of your bins.
*Use ToteScan labels and the free app to easily find all of your décor.
Christmas Lights
4. When taking down your Christmas lights check to make sure they are still working.
If any have burnt out bulbs replace them now or discard them and make a note on your Christmas Inventory list of any replacement light strings/color/how many strings you will need for next year.
5. Reuse plastic store bags to hold a single string of lights or use newspaper to wrap lights ~ this will help to keep them from becoming entangled and will be a real time saver when you begin your decorating next Christmas.
Recipes and Entertaining
6. Write down any recipes this year that you tried and liked {including the source of the recipe so you don't waste time looking for the recipe next year} or print out the recipes {if they were found online} and keep them in a binder of Holiday Recipes including a master list of what you'll need to have on hand to make these recipes ~ think well-stocked Holiday Pantry!
Gift Giving Made Easy
7. Start keeping track of any gift ideas you have for those on your gift list and buy them throughout the year saving money and time. This might actually be a perfect time to compare savings account options and maybe even set up an account just for your Christmas planning.
Make a note of any gifts you do buy and keep them all in one place so you don’t forget about them or are scrambling to find them when the time comes. My mother did this and come Christmas she was always ready.
If you're really organized, you can wrap and tag these gifts so they are ready for next Christmas.
Table Setting Tip
8. Check table linens for stains and treat {if necessary} and launder before storing.
My mother would iron them as well before storing and place tissue paper between the folds so that they were wrinkle-free and ready when needed.
Journal Memories
9. Write down any special memories from this year and store this away with your décor. It will be fun to look back at your Holiday fun!
10. Start a savings account or put extra money to the side to use for enjoying Christmas Movies, plays, special events or dinners with family and friends without having to worry about using money from your Christmas Gift Budget.
