Sweet Roasted Pepper and Caramelized Onion Cheese Bread
Celebrate any day with this delicious Sweet Roasted Pepper and Caramelized Onion Cheese Bread
Hello! I am so glad you're here for this month's installment of The
This month's theme is Italian Food which is one of my favorite categories EVER!
The recipe I'm sharing today is extremely versatile. You can make it for a family fun night, family dinner, or for a party. It's a great appetizer, too! It has cheese and bread so to me, that makes it almost perfect. If there was any way that chocolate could fit in here, I'd be in heaven. 😉
I added Marinated Sweet Yellow and Red Roasted Peppers and Roasted Bell Pepper Strips and Caramelized Onions to my standard cheese bread recipe and the end result was a sweet, tasty, rich and cheesy bread that was gone within minutes (no leftovers ~ sigh).
Sweet Roasted Pepper & Caramelized Onion Cheese Bread
Ingredients:
1 jar Marinated Sweet Yellow & Red Roasted Peppers
1 jar Roasted Bell Pepper Strips & Caramelized Onions
I loaf of Italian Bread (fresh/not sliced)
1 stick of butter at room temperature
½ cup mayonnaise
1-12 ounce package of shredded Colby and Monterrey Jack cheese
1. Preheat oven to 325°.
2. Mix butter and mayonnaise together until smooth.
3. This is just to taste ~ no measuring required ~ scoop out as much of the Mezzetta peppers from each jar as desired mix together and coarsely chop.
I didn't drain these as the marinade adds a smooth flavor to the cheese bread.
4. Add the chopped Mezzetta peppers and onions and cheese to the butter/mayo spread and mix just until blended.
5. Cut the Italian bread in half lengthwise.
6. Slather the bread halves with your spread.
7. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Slice and serve.

As with any of my recipes, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
Sometimes, I don't like to use ingredients I'm not familiar with, like the jarred peppers in this recipe, but I'm so glad I did. They added an awesome flavor to a very simple recipe!
