5 Mason Jar Projects for The Non Crafty
5 Mason Jar Projects for the Non Crafty
I like Mason Jars. I have some real ones ~ like my antique Atlas Jar and my blue Ball Mason Jars ~ and I have some faux ones ~ my inexpensive ones I bought at the Target Dollar Spot. When I bought my Target jars I also bought two lids ~ one a frog for arranging flowers and one a diffuser-type lid and then a few weeks ago I found a Pump Insert Kit at Target made by Ball. I was so excited that I decided to finally put together some projects in a very non crafty way and check out whether the Target lids fit the Ball and Atlas Jars and whether the Ball Pump Kit would work with the Target jars....does that make sense?
While my wheels were spinning thinking of what to use my jars for I found a handle and a note card holder made by Darice for mason jars so I thought I'd do something with those as well.
The first accessory I tried was the Neck Clip Card Holder. This is the ONLY accessory that has to be used with a standard mason jar lid because you have to snap it into the bottom of the band and then insert the lid.
First I used it on a Ball Mason Jar to hold a note.......
and next I used it on a small jar from Target with a little X sticker on it (for kisses!).
I then tried the diffuser lid ~ once I had it on my jar I decided to pull some twine through it...
and then switched out the brown twine for some colorful twine...
and then I tried it on my antique Atlas Mason's jar...and it worked (and looked pretty, too)
and then I tried it as a diffuser similar to one I made YEARS ago (when I first started blogging)......
then I added the handle to the jar....combo craftiness (notice no glue gun has been used so far!).
and then I took off the diffuser lid, left the handle on and added some vintage silverware....I like!
then I took the silverware out and added some pretty paper straws.....
then I tried the $3.95 Pump Insert Kit I bought at Target
....it worked perfectly ~ I only had to trim some excess tubing from the bottom to get it to fit this size jar.....
Next up....the Target Blue Jar with the Frog Lid from Target.....perfect fit....
and then I added some flowers and a chalkboard label also from the Dollar Spot at Target....
and that's it....so which is your favorite jar and lid combo?
This is definitely for me! Awesome ideas-pinning!
