Frozen Favorites & Homemade Equal Convenient Healthy Meals
This time of year I seem to be in a constant state of 'frazzle' and mealtime is a challenge. In an effort to keep things healthy, convenient and tasty I bought Lean Cuisine Asian Flavor 6-packs from Sam's Club {My shopping story can be found on G+ here} added some Chicken Potstickers and whipped up a homemade, gluten-free teriyaki sauce for a meal that was ready in 12 minutes.
For the meal above, I chose the Lean Cuisine Chicken Teriyaki Stir Fry as my main course.
I added Chicken Potstickers which are ready in a snap.
I then topped off the meal with my Homemade Gluten-Free Teriyaki Sauce.
📖 Recipe
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup low-sodium soy sauce {check the label to be sure it's gluten free}
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 clove garlic ~ minced
- 1 teaspoon grated onion
- ½ cup water
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients and place in a small saucepan. Heat to boiling and boil for 3 to 5 minutes and serve.
As with any of my recipes, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
I made this meal for myself but my husband and oldest son both wanted a 'taste' which led to them wanting me to make this meal for them as well so it was a win-win situation. All I needed to do was make something for the younger kids and and I was out of the kitchen in no time. I'll be buying more of the Lean Cuisine 6-packs in the future at Sam's Club for busy days like this! The end result was a meal with a restaurant feel to it without spending the extra money or having to leave the house.
