Mason Jar Gardening Gifts for Mom
Mason Jar Gardening Gifts for Mom and a Free Printable!
Mason Jar Gifts are awesome and this mason jar gardening gift is great for Mother's Day or any gardener on your gift list.
Two weeks from today is.......Mother's Day! You still have lots of time to make something special for your Mom and today some of my favorite bloggers and I are here to give you inspiration.
When it comes to Mother's Day I'm sort of clueless. My Mom was a wonderful Mother but she passed away a long time ago and so, other than enjoying some homemade cards and sweet little gifts from my boys, I never think about gift giving when it comes to Mother's Day so I scratched my head and thought....well, what kind of Mother's Day gifts would I like to get and that's what I'm sharing with you today.
Mason Jar Gifts for Mother's Day
I love gardening. I have enjoyed it since I was a teenager and even though I don't get to spend much time out in my garden now, I still like almost anything that has to do with gardening so that was my inspiration - gifts for me 😉
Supplies:
Ball jars in the vintage colors of green, purple and blue
Plant mover from Ikea (I used it like a Lazy Susan and as a matter of fact I liked it so much it's going to stay on my table or kitchen counter for exactly that purpose).
gardening tools (Ikea)
gloves (Ikea)
live plant - One of the great things about this idea is its versatility – these Mason jars will hold all
kinds of plants. From popular herbs to plants that are more pet friendly like African Violets
from EnterNeverland, all you have to do is make sure that the plant will thrive in a smaller
growing container.
large tote bag (Ikea)
seeds (Dollar Tree)
Letter M (Hobby Lobby)
burlap banner (Target)
mini easel (Target)
slate plant markers with chalk (Target)
twine (Target)
fairy lights (Target)
plant pot (I already had the one that I used)
natural moss (Michael's)
I used the plant mover to hold all of my gifts. I placed the plant in a pot and covered the dirt with moss that I wet first to hold it in place.
I then added a large letter M (a corrugated tin letter) into the center of the pot (M for MOM!)
Around the pot I placed my Ball jars that I filled with my gardening supplies. I left the silver band on the jars and kept the centers in a safe place for future use.
The fairy lights looked so pretty in the purple Ball jar!
I also bought the tote bag to be used as a gardening bag to carry my items outside and around the handle I placed a vintage doily.
Because I was thinking of my Mom so much while I was making this I added some yellow paper roses around the Ball jars ~ yellow roses were her favorite.
To complete the display I created the printable above that you are free to download and print out. 🙂
