How-To Pack a Fun and Healthy Kids Lunch #fruitshoot #fuelyourimagination #ad

A big Thank You to Fruitshoot for sponsoring today's post.

I remember growing up lunchtime was very serious business ~ I went to a private school and there was NO WAY we could play with our food...not even poke at it but now that I'm a mom and I homeschool my kids lunch is fun. 🙂

Sometimes lunch is just a sandwich cut in triangles or leftovers from dinner the night before but sometimes lunch is something creative.  Since it's springtime I was thinking a little out of the box for this Bunny-Inspired sandwich.

My youngest son is easy...he loves healthy food and that makes the whole nutritious lunch 'thing' a snap.

Ingredients

  • 2 Romaine Lettuce Stalks cut to size lengthwise to fit your bunny head
  • Fresh Strawberries or fruit of choice for 'inside' the bunny ears
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 slice of cheese
  • Meat or other filling
  • Candies for nose and eyes

Instructions

  • Place the Romaine lettuce on your plate angling each piece to resemble a bunny ear.
  • I used the inside of a reusable water bottle lid to cut out my bunny head from each slice of bread. Do this 2 times.
  • Use whatever filling you desire to make your sandwich and place the sandwich down on top of your Romaine lettuce.
  • Cut 2 small circles from the cheese for the bunny's cheeks and use a knife to cut another piece of cheese in the shape of a tongue. Add to the top slice of bread. Add jelly beans or candies for the eyes and nose.
  • Fill ears {lettuce stalks} with sliced strawberries.
  • Serve with Fruitshoot to drink.

My 2 youngest sons loved the flavor of the Fruitshoot and my youngest liked the easy open/close twist cap ~ great for at-home lunches or ones that are on the go.  I love that it contains REAL Fruit Juice and NO High Fructose Corn Syrup.
