I love to listen to music ~ all types and genres of music but until now, unless it was songs that I had paid $$$$ for and downloaded to my phone or CD's I had purchased listening to music could get pretty boring as I listened to the same songs over and over again, and radio, well, while I enjoy talk radio sometimes I rarely find myself listening to music on the radio.  My husband is my personal DJ ~ he knows song titles, groups, and details off the top of his head and always finds the coolest music for us to listen to.  He has tried a few of the free music services but I just recently topped his DJ status with Nokia MixRadio.     I've had my Nokia Lumia Icon for a few weeks now and I am just hitting the tip of the iceberg for all of the features this phone offers.  Last week when I was in NYC I had the chance to hear firsthand from Nokia reps about MixRadio.  I'm sorry to say that until they talked about it I avoided the little smiley face icon on my phone ~ it looked cute and all but it represented the unknown!

The more the Nokia reps talked about it the more I wanted to try it.  As soon as I got home Friday night I started listening and I haven't been able to stop.    

Why I Like Nokia MixRadio

• Nokia MixRadio is FREE when you buy a Nokia Lumia Windows Phone {I love my Windows Phone ~ if you have questions about it just leave a comment below and I'll be happy to answer regarding my experience}.
• You can create your own playlists based on favorite artists.  As the playlist 'plays' you can give songs a thumbs up {you'll receive more music similar to this} or a thumbs down {you'll receive less music like this and this song will be skipped ~ you get a total of 6 skips per hour}.  
• Nokia MixRadio recently hit the milestone of 30 Million...yep 30 MILLION songs available to stream. 
• There are NO advertisements.  I know that when my husband listens to other 'free' services ads come on that are loud and annoying but that's not the case with Nokia MixRadio.
• Once I pick the smiley icon from my home screen I'm taken to my recently played songs.  I can chose a genre/playlist I've already set up, I can play a song I've recently played or something new.
• And here is one of the coolest features and one of my favorites! If I hold down the play me button I have the option to make the current song I'm playing available offline or I can pin it to my start screen if it's a favorite song. 

There are so many more reasons to fall for Nokia MixRadio but these are my favorite reasons so far.  Everyday I find another reason and the way I figure it I still have at least 29,999,900 more songs to try so I may be at this for a while!
