My Very Own Personal Favorites {and a really long story}

#1 Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker

For years, literally years, I have been wanting a sound dock for my smartphone.  I would get this close {imagine my fingertips almost touching} to buying one but then I wouldn't.  Now the reason I didn't is because none of the sound docks I looked at that were within my price range were from Bose.  So now the question becomes, why Bose?  The very first new car I ever owned I bought in 2004.  It was a Nissan Maxima.  That car was amazing....it had everything ~ heated leather seats, heated steering wheel, heated mirrors {I obviously get cold a lot}, a sunroof, it went really, really fast 😉 and it had a Bose Sound System.  I would crank up the stereo and jam while I just drove, and drove and drove! Have I ever told you before how much I love to drive?  Well, those were some of the best times until one day a car stopped suddenly in front of me....I stopped but the HUGE SUV behind me didn't and there went my car....crush....mangle....crunch.....I hadn't had it that long but it was smooshed.  Thankfully I was only bumped and bruised but the insurance company was going to total out the car....gone....my beautiful car....but....I found a mechanic who worked on race cars who wanted to rebuild it and said he would take whatever the insurance company would be willing to pay....EEEEKKKKKKK ~ I got to keep my car.  Now, here's where it gets interesting.  The mechanic had to order many of the parts directly from Japan since the car was such a new model the parts weren't yet even at the dealerships.  It took 6 week to put the car back together and when all was said and done the most expensive part was the subwoofer for the Bose.....when the mechanic told me that I was shocked....I mean almost the entire body had to be put back together and that was the most expensive part?  He said of course it was....it's a Bose.  So that in a nutshell is when I really began to appreciate the quality of Bose products.  Now fast forward to March 2014, NYC ~ the wonderful folks from Verizon gave each of their Lifestyle Bloggers that attended the meetup a Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker.  The moment I had dreamed of for so long came true ~ I had a Bose for my smartphone and it is so much better than a sound dock ~  it's a portable champion of sound, no wires, no hassle.  I take it everywhere with me in the house and out of the house.  The sound is amazing, it is lightweight and the battery {once charged} seems to last forever.  I listen to music, talk shows, podcasts, etc., wherever I am.  I love it and if your Mom is anything like me, she will too! 

#2 Nokia Lumia Icon

The Nokia Lumia Icon is my newest smartphone.  I've shared with you in the past how I stay organized with it {here} and how the Free Nokia MixRadio Service is the best ever {here}  but the one thing I haven't touched on is video ~ the video is amazing and the sound that's captured is perfection!  We were out for a drive a few weeks ago and ended up at a mall about an hour from our house.  My little guy is FULL of Energy and is always looking for Adventure ~ they had a Bungee Cord sort of deal set up and for $5.00 my little guy could jump and tumble to his heart's content.  I videotaped his fun with with my Nokia Lumia Icon.  Since you aren't grandparents or an aunt I don't expect you to listen to and watch the entire video but if you do watch it you will notice that even though the rest of the family and I are behind the camera the sound you clearly hear so well are the voices of my son and his 'coach'.  The focus of the video are the minutes I captured of him having fun....not the behind the camera giggles and comments and if you make the video FULL SCREEN you will be enamored with it's clarity. Mom or Grandma will have so much fun taking quality videos of her precious little ones.
