Do you own a Swiffer Mop that you use to clean your linoleum and vinyl floors? They are so convenient.

I owned one, donated it to the thrift store, and then bought one again so I could try these reusable Swiffer mop pads. Sometimes, I totally baffle myself!?!

An Eco-Friendly Cleaning Alternative

So, now, back to the asking if you own one or don't.....If you do, buying and using reusable Mop Pads that work with your Swiffer is an easy way to save money. They're also an eco-friendly alternative.

Lately, I have been looking more and more into ways to not only save money but to make eco-friendly wise choices around the home and this is by far one of the easiest changes I have made. This quick swap (reusable mop pads for disposable ones) saves me a lot of money and can save you a lot, too.

Save Money

I estimated how many disposable wipes I use in a week (an average of 3) and multiplied that by 52 weeks in a year for a total of 156 wipes. If you divide that by 24 wipes in a box that would mean that I need to buy 6 ½ boxes of disposable wipes a year for a total of approximately $75.00 (give or take depending on when you're reading this post).

That's a lot of money and if you consider that purchasing a two-pack of reusable wipes is roughly the same price as a box of 24 disposable wipes I can potentially save $64.00 in one year (your usage and savings may be more or less)! You can buy a lot of groceries with $64.00, or shoes, jeans, have dinner out...the possibilities go on and on so hopefully, you see why I'm excited to have found this awesome cleaning hack that saves money and is more environmentally friendly.

Rather than the continuous cycle of buy, use, and throw away that you get with Swiffer brand refillable pads disposable option, reusable mop pads can be machine washed and dried, and used over and over again.

One microfiber pad can replace up to 100 disposable mop pads and provide a deeper clean.

Easy to Use

These reusable mop pads attach and detach quickly. They stay firmly in place while you're using them and are easy to remove and throw into the washer and dryer when they're ready to be cleaned.

Depending on how dirty my floors are I can sometimes use them 3 or 4 times before washing them BUT, I do wash them after every use in the bathroom for the sake of hygiene.

They come two in a package. You can leave one in the bathroom so that you keep it separate from the one you'll use elsewhere but they, of course, can be washed together.

Machine Washable and Dryable

Follow the washing directions on the package and you're all set. I've washed mine a few times and they are just as good now as they were the first time I used them.
