The process of arranging is easy and the results are stunning, whether you choose to use a single type of flower or mix and match a variety of blooms.
This is a sponsored post but, as always, all opinions are my own.
This simple method works especially well when you receive a bouquet of flowers, like I did from BloomsyBox!
If you have a large container you'd like to fill with a beautiful bouquet, I have a tutorial specifically for that here and if you'd like to use a vintage kitchen crock, I have a tips here for that option!
Choose Your Flowers
Start by selecting the flowers you want to use in your bouquet. Think about the occasion, the recipient, and the desired look.
For a classic bouquet, consider using roses, lilies, or daisies.
For a more modern look, opt for sunflowers, tulips, or peonies.
Don’t be afraid to mix and match to create a unique and personalized arrangement.
Gather Your Supplies
You will need a vase, scissors or pruning sheers, and chicken wire for this method.
If you don't have chicken wire, no worries, you can use floral tape to create a grid across the top of your container.
I like use containers that aren't traditionally vases just to give my arrangement a unique look. In this case, I used an Ice bucket. It's perfect for holding flowers since it has a plastic liner specifically for the purpose of containing water!
Fill the container with fresh water and add the food that comes with your flowers.
Trim the Stems
Before arranging your flowers, you need to trim the stems. Cut each stem at an angle so it can absorb more water and keep the flowers fresh longer. Make sure to cut the stems to the right length for your vase.
A good rule of thumb is to cut your stems so that the total height of the flower is 1 ½ times the height of your container.
Start with the tallest flowers: Arrange the tallest flowers in the center of the vase and work your way out. This will help to create a balanced and aesthetically pleasing bouquet.
For this particular arrangement, I knew I would be placing it against a wall so I added the taller flowers to the back of the bouquet and worked forward.
Add the filler flowers: Fill in the gaps between the taller flowers with the filler flowers. These flowers should be shorter than the main flowers and will help to add depth and texture to your bouquet.
Finish with greenery: To finish off your bouquet, add some greenery around the edges of the vase. This will help to create a cohesive look and will also help to hide any stems that are visible.
Adjust and rearrange: Once you have arranged your flowers, step back and take a look. If needed, adjust the placement of the flowers and rearrange until you are happy with the final result.
