DIY Lavender Linen Spray

Lavender Linen Spray ~ wonderful and soothing scent to spray on your linens and to use when ironing from cupcakesandcrinoline.com

This time of year gets my mind wandering and puts me in such a wonderful mood.  I dream of being outdoors soon and working in my garden.  I love to be outside and take in all the sights, sounds and smells but....until then I like to enjoy the aroma of spring indoors.

One of my favorite ways to do this is by using an easy-to-make lavender linen spray.  I started using linen spray years ago.  When any of the kids, my husband or I are having trouble sleeping I like to spray our pillowcases and sheets before we turn in for the night to help create a soothing environment.

Sometimes I like to turn down the bed, spray the sheets and then cover everything back up ~ it's a nice treat later on to come in and find the wonderful light scent of the lavender throughout my room.

Ingredients:

2 cups distilled water

2 tablespoons rubbing alcohol (or Vodka)

15 to 20 drops of a good quality essential oil

Combine all ingredients in a spray bottle, shake well and enjoy!

Another wonderful use for this spray is when ironing.  I lightly mist our sheets or my vintage doilies and iron away.  The heat releases the scent for a momentary delightful nudge of the subtle aroma of the lavender AND it seals the scent in.  When I do this and place my linens back into storage (I keep them in an antique chest of drawers) I find that the lavender permeates the drawer and the wood and when I open the drawer....the aroma is amazing!

An easy no DIY way to add the fresh and clean smell of spring to my home is an extremely inexpensive way! I found these products, ALL of them, in the air care aisle at Walmart (but I've also seen it since at my local supermarket) and really was impressed with how little they cost and the quality of the scents.  The plug in air fresheners are great to use in the powder room, kitchen, laundry room and kid's rooms ~ everything #SmellsClean and that's my favorite smell of any!

I didn't need to run to the mall to pick up some candles and air fresheners, everything I needed I found while doing my weekly grocery shopping.  I love when I don't have to make an extra trip (that usually turns into me spending money I don't NEED to!).  That Hello Spring is definitely calling my name but I wouldn't complain if I were to suddenly be swept away to a Caribbean Villa 😉

What is your favorite scent or aroma?
