How To Style a Fun Christmas Lodge Style Mantel

For as long as I can remember I have always dreamed of a home with a wood-burning fireplace and a beautiful mantel. Something I can decorate with every season and holiday and when it comes to Christmas decorating.....well, it would be over-the-top gorgeous! I have wanted this for as long as I can remember.
Now, I haven't moved (yet) but last year I decided to stop my whining and DIY my own faux fireplace.
I made this one (someday I'll share the tutorial) and I am so glad I did because now I have a mantel to decorate.
I couldn't wait to deck it out for Christmas. I decided to decorate it in a bit of a Lodge Style. I knew because of its size I couldn't go full on Lodge but that was the vibe I wanted to create.
Where to Start - Christmas Lodge Style Mantel
I needed some new decor (of course!) so I headed to At Home and shopped their Christmas decor. Oh. My. Heavens. They had more choices than I honestly think I have ever seen. I spent 3 quiet blissful hours going down aisles and putting items in my cart. It was awesome!
I knew I wanted a rustic look and this garland was perfect.
Instead of going with a wreath, I chose this beautiful Joy to the World framed picture. I'm not sure if you can tell but it has a 3-D look. The picture of the tree is beneath the glass frame and Joy to the World is painted on the glass.
Add More
Then, I saw this little clips and since they were numbered 1 to 24 I knew this would be my Advent Calendar inspiration for this year.
They had some vintage-vibe bags, large and small, and I bought each. I'm going to use the larger ones for gift-giving but the smaller ones are being used to hold candy.
I attached the small bags to the clips and I'll add some small tags, etc., to the other numbers for the Advent calendar.
A Cozy Spot to Sit and Ponder
I needed a throw for my chair and of course, it had to be faux fur. It's Christmas, I'm going for a lodge look....fur is a must and I really like the under-color of the red.
It pulls everything together perfectly.
I topped the throw with this super cute pillow that goes with a yearly theme I have of Trees on Cars.
I added some decor I already had to round out the look but I am thrilled with the way my mantel turned out!
Do you have a yearly theme for your Christmas decor?
All around Great Job!! Love it! Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much, Dina, and a Merry Christmas to you as well!!!
