Mason Jar Beach Photo Display
Save vacation memories with these beautiful Mason Jar Beach Photo Displays - perfect for coastal decor and a wonderful way to use the seashells the kids end up bringing home.
One of my favorite days every summer is the day we go to the lake and spend the entire day just relaxing, watching the kids play in the water and in the sand and enjoying our time together. All the boys find shells throughout the day and bring them back to me to save. I never know what to do with those shells but this year I found a great way to commemorate the day with a 3-dimensional display.
I ordered some photos from Shutterfly ~ all of these were from my iPhone and the picture quality is wonderful.
I gathered some supplies ~ Mason Jars {including the new Blue Ones}, a starfish, sand {I didn't bring any back with us but you can find sand at craft stores}, sisal, and my shells. You'll also need a glue gun for attaching the sisal and shells to your jar{s}.
I trimmed up some of my photos first so they would fit properly in the jars.
I first added my photos to the jars and then added the sand and shells.
For this jar I hot glued sisal to the upper rim and then glued shells around the rim.
For this jar I simply embellished the front of the jar with a starfish held in place with baker's twine.
I'm planning on buying some more sand so I can add to my Mason Jar Photo Display Gallery ~ these will look so pretty on a windowsill in mass letting the light trickle through and reminding me of our perfect family day.

This is so cute, Mary Beth, and just perfect with the blue Mason jars! I have a bunch of them and have been trying to figure out what to do - LOVE this inspiration! (And I'm going to the beach soon!) Thanks for sharing and pinning!
Beautiful!I am pinning now...love everything about it.
What a great idea! I might try this. We have tons of shells and we I have a few pictures we took when we make a quick stop in Biloxi. We were on our way home from picking up our baby goats from their visit with the grandparents. This would be a nifty way to display them!
Such a sweet idea Mary Beth and I LOVE your photos on this tutorial -- colors are so clear and beautiful!!
Thank you so much, Amy ~ this was a fun project and the prints from Shutterfly were perfect for this memory jar.
Fun idea...may have to create a couple for my Poolhouse! Love if you would share this at our Nautical themed party...https://onekriegerchick.com/2013/07/29/make-along-monday-link-up-your-nautical-projects-2/
