Washi Tape Chalkboard Flag ~ 4th of July Quick and Easy Craft
I love Independence Day and all that it represents ~ what a joy to have such a wonderful day to celebrate. I also love the flag and {almost} anything flag related.
You can make this washi tape flag on almost any surface ~ glass, windows, walls or a chalkboard frame in under 3 minutes...I timed myself 😉
All you need is some washi tape ~ I ordered mine when it was the Pick Your Plum Deal of the Day {they had a picture of a flag similar to this...my inspiration!}. You will need 3 rolls:
- One roll chevron pattern in red and white
- One roll white stars on a blue background
- One roll black anchors on a white background.
I didn't measure anything for this project. I wanted it to have a bit of a rugged and worn look to it. I eyed up the spacing of my washi tape on a chalkboard tray that I had made {Dollar Tree} and voila ~ a pretty darn cool Fourth of July ~ Independence Day craft in under 3 minutes.
The tray edges were originally a rubbed bronze finish but I distressed it a bit with a dry brush white wash. I really like the finished look and the great thing about washi tape is that I can easily remove the tape from the tray when the 4th of July is over and use it once again as a simple little message board.
