Halloween Decor - Sparkle, Shine and Glow

I only work with companies and products that I use in my own home and life.Halloween Decor - glitter, glamour and sparkle Yay! I am so glad to have you here today as I share my Halloween Decor as part of the Bewitching Halloween Blog Hop with Balsam Hill.

Dollar Store Glitter Pumpkins and skulls with I tend to go through phases with all of my decor - whether it be for holidays or for my home. This year, one of my displays is all about glitter, sparkle and glow.  I took these pictures at twilight so you could appreciate the lights....that's when the magic begins.

Glitter Halloween Tree with Orange Lights

Glitter and Glam Halloween Decor One of the anchors of this display are two black, glittery, tabletop trees.  I put one on each side of my display.  These are battery-operated (I can move them anywhere!) and I will be moving them to my dining room table for Halloween Dinner - a cauldron of chili and some fun kid-friendly drinks.

Halloween Decor Orange and Black Glittered Pumpkins that Light UpI used several packages of black, inexpensive cheese cloth on my table and behind my display.  I added some glitter pumpkins, one orange and one black atop of some old books.  My sister just gave me these books a few months ago...I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them and then thought these vintage tomes were just what was needed here to add some height and character.Halloween Flicker Candles and Orange LED lights

Halloween Decor Miracle Flame Flickering Candles Decorated with Cricut Halloween Vinyl CutoutsI used four Miracle Flame Votives which I prefer over real candles.  These look amazing - the flame actually flickers, and they cast just the glow I wanted.  The candles come plain in a pack of two.  I added vinyl cutouts that I made with my Cricut (I'll have a post up tomorrow with the details on how to make these for yourself).

Halloween Snow Globe from Balsam Hill

Halloween Snowglobe with Crow

Next, I added two glitter globes.  These are nice and heavy and when you flip them upside down and shake them, a flurry of black glitter and bats come trickling down.
Halloween Decor Owls Crows Glitter Pumpkins and Decorated Flicker Candles

This glitter globe has a crow in it sitting on top of books....um....it goes perfectly with my theme! It has a vintage flair to it and that inspired me to make a simple....oh so simple, owl picture for behind everything.  (I'll have the how-to's for that in tomorrow's post as well).  I grabbed a crow from my Halloween decor stash and added that to the display as well.  I love when everything comes together!

Halloween is my favorite holiday. Every room in my home is decorated for Halloween (even the bathrooms and kitchen!) and we do a big set up on the outdoors with lights, tombstones, creepy cloth, spider webs, bones and fog. It brings my husband so much joy when neighbors stop and comment at how awesome the house is decorated, or on Halloween night when everyone rushes to go to our house. It is so much fun!

    1. Mary Beth says:

Oh my goodness, your decor sounds amazing!

Sounds like perfect autumn decor! I love scarecrows and you reminded me that I still need to put mine out.

  9. I do more of a Fall decor rather than a Halloween decor with wreaths, mums, and printed decor pillows.

    1. Mary Beth says:

      Your decor sounds lovely.

  10. I like to decorate with things that will work for the whole fall season, like pumpkins, mums, etc. As well as anything my kiddos create. 🙂

  11. I usually only do a halloween scene on the front door and not our yard because I don't want to scare away the little ones

    1. Mary Beth says:

That's very thoughtful....the little ones are what makes the day so special!

  12. I LOVE Halloween! Outside I have a cemetery with tombstones I made out of 2" foam, two entry columns made of wood with flame bowls on top, and an iron fence around the cemetery area. Then there is the witch who stirs her brew in a cauldron I made from a huge flower pot, on the flames I made out of foam and orange lights. I put a fog machine it the cauldron so it looks like something is cooking in there! then I made a shack out of old wood fence and put an old door that came from an old wash house my husband's grandmother had. I left an opening for a window in which I hang this ugly looking skeleton with black hair and flashing eyes. Out in front of the shack I set up a campfire area with a large iron pot on it where the scary guy I made cooks up his stew of ??? who knows what!
Inside the house I decorate it as a seance/fortune teller room with a crystal ball that glows, lots of old books, pictures, and candles scattered about. There are flicker lights in the lamps and I hang an old chandelier that I painted black and decorated with crystals that is above the seance table. We invite lots of guests who enjoy it every year. As I said, I love Halloween!

Our family has always gone over-the-top for Halloween, but nothing bloody scary! We've done a vampire in a front porch swing/coffin to last year's "Dead and Breakfast" with the skelly receptionist. The whole family gets involved in the decorating fun. Love your site! Thank you muches for the giveaway!

My favorite Halloween memory is going to my grandparents for trick or treating and to carve pumpkins( to decorate the porch). We always had so much fun and got to spend spent quality time with them.

    1. Mary Beth says:

      Sounds spooky but awesome!

  18. I love Halloween! I was always so excited to dress up and go Trick or Treating. This was in the 50's and 60's! So I love and collect vintage Halloween decorations. The older the better! Nothing too scary. I grew up on Charlie Brown - It's the Great Pumpkin 🙂 I decorate inside and out. Love colored lights. Nothing like the smell of a fresh pumpkin while carving it into a jack-o-lantern. Oh what fun!

    1. Mary Beth says:

Thanks so much for sharing your fun memories, Cat!

  19. Diane Smith says:

WOW! Your display looks great! I don't decorate for Halloween, but I do decorate my mantel for fall: a fall floral arrangement I made to go in an antique pitcher, a few baby white pumpkins, a berry garland and some pine cones. Enough fall to make me happy!

    1. Mary Beth says:

      Your fall display sounds lovely!

  20. I never had a Halloween party when I was young, but I envied the gang in the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, who had one. When I had kids of my own, I started a tradition of throwing the Halloween party of my dreams for my own kids and the neighborhood kids. They are all in college now, and they still remember bobbing for apples and the old- fashioned games.?

    1. Mary Beth says:

Oh my gosh....that sounds like so much fun and such wonderful memories! Thanks for sharing 🙂

  21. These Halloween decorations are fabulous! I usually only do Christmas but I'm loving how awesome this looks!

  22. Melissa L. says:
