DIY Smartphone Projector
Do you like to use your smartphone to watch TV shows, movies, or slideshows? I have Netflix, the WWE Network, movies downloaded to my smartphone, pictures, instagram....LOTS and lots of entertainment on my smartphone itself. The problem is that I have to HOLD my phone to watch (oh.my.goodness.how.lazy.am.I?) ~ yes, holding it can be hard for long periods of time so instead of overtaxing my muscles (shameless excuse that sounds almost like a medical reason to not hold my phone) I decided to make a smartphone projector so that the phone and projector could do all the work while I (and whoever is watching my smartphone with me) can partake in some snacks without worrying about getting the phone dirty and all watch at the same time....no need to all hover around each other and breathe on each other (all boys....lots of nacho breath in my house). This is also a great way to let your little ones use your smartphone to view entertainment without having to hold the phone ~ no more peanut butter and jelly smudges on your screen 😉
I have a lot of devices to use but my favorite by far is my Motorola Droid Turbo ~ the picture quality is the sharpest, clearest and best of all of my devices. *Disclosure: As a member of a pretty cool team of influencers I receive some very useful and wonderful gadgets and gizmos. All opinions shared with you are my own.
Supplies needed to make your projector:
shoe box (I thankfully snagged a bunch of shoes last week at Costco for $19.99 a pair for my boys so I had a shoe box ~ yay me ~ I usually recycle them as soon as I get them)
magnifying glass
electrical tape or other strong tape
X-acto or other sharp tool to cut hole in box
black paper or paint if the inside of your box is brightly colored ~ mine was brown so I left it as is
stand to hold your smartphone....you can use Legos 😉

I think you get the "cool Mom" award for this one. Great idea!
Thank you so much, dear friend!
This is such a great idea. I didn't even know you could do this, so cool. It will be perfect for movies outside with popcorn and candy! I can't wait to share this π Hope you have a great day! Coco
Thank you, CoCo! You got my wheels turning ~ I think I'll use this in the summer for movie time! You're so smart. π
I love this! I have seen different hacks for your phone, but this is the first I have really read about it. Thinking this is one I need to file in Pinterest for a rainy day. We have bunches of LEGOS so easy to make our stand!
Thanks so much, Laura!
Thanks so much for the share, Lisa ~ I truly appreciate it!
