Stay on Track and Munch Away on These Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Bites
Do you have any trips or adventures planned for this summer? We have a few, which is so exciting for me and my family. It’s been far too long since we’ve had any real fun and we are all ready to just let go and ENJOY!
Unless things change (and I am totally open to change, i.e. if someone wants to fly me somewhere…I’m up for it!), our adventures this year will be car trips which mean LOTS of time in the car and lots of hunger pangs from the crew.
Right now, my two older sons and I have been eating healthier and making smarter choices with our eating habits and one of the little treats that help us all are these Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Bites.
These are so easy to make and the taste is amazing.
I picked up the ingredients this past Sunday at my local Giant Eagle and as an added bonus, I got fuelperks+ that I’ll be using to help with the sting of high gasoline costs. And here is another tip and it’s something I do all the time.
When I know we’ll be traveling I pick up some restaurant gift cards for eating while we’re on the road. I learned long ago to be prepared when it comes time to feeding my guys and buying the gift cards at Giant Eagle isn’t only convenient but, ka-ching, perks! They carry so many gift cards that anytime I have some gift giving to do or I know we’ll be eating out or doing some shopping, I pick up gift cards at Giant Eagle so I earn perks….it’s all about the perks, baby! 😉
Now, for the recipe!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Protein Bites
Yields 20 Protein Bites
- 1 cup almond butter
- 4 level tablespoons raw honey
- 3 cups quick oats (blend oats in a blender until it is of a consistency similar to flour)
- 2-3 scoops vanilla or chocolate whey protein
- 1/3 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1/8 cup 60% or higher dark chocolate chips
- Optional: 1/2 cup of unsweetened coconut shreds
- Mix all ingredients together in a bowl,
- and then roll into 1-inch balls.
- These can be eaten fresh or frozen.
I’ll be making these ahead and freezing them for our adventures and saving my perks for gas and so much more!
