Displaying Ribbon Decoratively ~ Ribbon Wound Clothespins

When I have scraps of ribbon, those that no longer fit on a spool or ribbon bought by the yard, I like to keep track of it either by winding it around clothespins,

placing the ones I like with phrases that are dear to me in a glass cloche

or placing in glass jars {mine are from Ikea $2.99 each}

In any of these cases, they are pretty to look at and are an easy and inexpensive way to organize.

To wrap the ribbon around the clothespin simply start with the ribbon centered in the clothespin opening and wrap evenly around finishing off with a decorative straight pin.  I like to place these by the bunch in a wire basket for easy access.

    This is a fabulous idea! I have so much ribbon, trims and laces! Unfortunately I have way too much to display this way but will definitely keep this in mind for when I get so busy sewing I use up a bunch of what I have. Currently I had to take a bunch of old time cards and wrap my ribbons, laces and trims around. I have filled sets of those plastic drawer towers with them. Not very pretty but it finally got them somewhat organized and out of the way. Your ideas are always so pretty and appealing! Keep them coming!

    Guess what I'll be doing today? Winding my big ol' bin of ribbon scraps on clothespins. Love the idea and am featuring your post on my Facebook page today.

    1. Once you get a rhythm of winding going it's relaxing. ; )
