If you haven’t you need try it. You’ll have as much fun gathering all of your BOO supplies and then secretly leaving them at the home (or sending them to the home) of your BOO recipient as they will getting their BOO kit. If you’ve never put a kit together it’s so simple and you can get everything you need in one stop at Walmart and if you can’t make it to a store you can shop online as well!
How To Put A BOO Kit Together
I went to my local Walmart and grabbed my supplies:
Variety bags of SNICKERS®, TWIX®, Skittles® and Starburst® candies and a Box of Individual Serving Cheez-It® snacks
American Greetings® Tissue Paper and Stickers
BOO bucket or container
Perfect BOO printable – download at BooItForward.com
Grab your BOO bucket and line with colorful American Greetings® Tissue Paper.
Fill your BOO bucket with SNICKERS®, TWIX®, Skittles®, Starburst® and a bag (or 2 or 3) of Cheez-It® snacks
For me, a gift wouldn’t be complete without a cupcake so I bought a box of small cupcakes at Walmart, used a food gifting package I had on had, added some cute American Greetings® stickers on the bag, placed a cupcake inside, closed it up with a chenille stem and added to my BOO bucket.
Print out a BOO It Forward printable and add to your container.
My gift still isn’t complete but yours certainly could be! All you’ll need to do is stealthily deliver your gift and leave it on your recipient’s doorknob or front porch.
Since this will be given to a family with kids I wanted to add one more thing to the kit; something to carry all their Trick or Treat loot in. Since I know from past Trick or Treating (I have 3 sons….they love candy) that plastic bags just don’t cut it when it comes to holding all of their candy I added a T-Shirt to Tote Bag. While I was at Walmart I saw this shirt and that’s when the idea struck! Turn it into a tote bag. It was big enough to hold a TON of candy and the way I constructed it, it can be used as a t-shirt again after Trick or Treat is over.
T-Shirt Tote Bag – Perfect for Trick or Treat
Supplies:
1 Kids Size Large T-Shirt – glow in the dark makes it even more fun!
Colorful ribbon for handles
Sewing machine and threadTurn your t-shirt inside out and stitch the sides of the T-shirt straight down from the top to the bottom leaving sleeves intact.
Stitch across the bottom of the t-shirt.
Turn right side out and add ribbon to shoulder/neckline area for carrying. Roll your tote bag up and hold in place with the ribbon handles – add to your BOO kit.
Once Halloween is over remove stitching and ribbon and use as a T-shirt once again!
If you’d like to turn this into a pillowcase, you can check out how to do that in this tutorial.
Now isn’t that cute and easy? If you’ll be shopping today forward, you can also make your BOO bundle a family movie night one by adding the new Ghostbusters® movie available on Blu-ray or DVD now at Walmart and you can also get it on VUDU (digital copy).
