Shabby Chic Christmas Mason Jar

Mason Jars, Shabby Chic and Christmas ~ to me, that's the perfect combination.  I have recently realized how awesome Mason Jars are.  I have always saved glass jars for 'stuff' but didn't realize it was a trend or that other people did it until the explosion of Mason Jar Awesomeness I've been seeing. With the Holidays quickly approaching {it's almost like whiplash how fast it seems to come...and go!} it's time to start thinking about decorating and gift giving and the awesome Mason Jar comes to the rescue. Shabby Chic Holiday Mason Jar I also love Shabby Chic and Vintage so combined the two to create this SUPER EASY TO MAKE Christmas in a Jar. Supplies: I started with an Atlas Mason Jar that I bought from an Antique Store a while ago.  It did not have a lid but I had some from a spaghetti jar that fit...not snugly but just enough for this project.  You can use any Mason Jar~I just wanted to keep with the vintage theme so chose this one. Tim Holtz idea-ology Woodlands (brush trees and wreath) Tim Holtz idea-ology mini lantern (2 AA Batteries for the landern) Mod Podge Sparkle Self-Adhesive Gems Double-sided tape Silver Garland Fake Snow Printed out Vintage Music Sheet {I chose this Silent Night Print}

1.  Add self-adhesive gems to tree and wreath. 2.  Lightly brush Mod Pod Sparkle to the tips of the tree{s} and wreath. 3.  Use double-side tape to adhere the tree to the bottom center of your jar. 4.  Sprinkle fake snow around the bottom of the jar.   5.  Place music sheet in jar behind tree {I also used double-sided tape to attach this}. 6.  Hang Lantern on the top of the jar allowing the wire to come out the back and behind the jar. 7.  Paint lid.  When dry hot glue the garland around the rim and add the wreath in the center. There you have it!

I joined the following awesome ladies below for this Holiday Mason Jar Craft Extravaganza ~ be sure to stop by their blogs and see what they created.  The hop will also be going on tomorrow and on Friday there will be a HUGE linky party where you can add your Holiday Mason Jar Creations and your one link will be seen across ALL of these blogs!

  39. I absolutely love this. I have a little obsession with putting things in jars, under glass, etc. I saw this over at LooksiSquare where coincidentally I'd just submitted a little tree vignette in a storage jar. Pinning this and gotta get one or two of those lanterns!
