Cutting the Cord - Chromecast, an Inexpensive, Easy Option

Have you considered cutting the cord to lessen your monthly bills, particularly your cable bill? If you have but weren't sure where to start, Chromecast may be the answer.
This post is sponsored by Best Buy but all opinions are my own.
Over the course of the last year, my husband and I have been working to cut expenses including our cable bill.
Our goal was to cut costs BUT maintain the entertainment we were used to and liked. It has been hard to find solutions without making drastic sacrifices but thankfully, there is Chromecast (available at Best Buy).
We can watch movies, shows, YouTube, even our favorite LIVE TV from all of our devices and it couldn't be easier.
Streaming from our phone to our TV is as easy as plugging Chromecast into the HDMI port on the TV. We can then stream our favorite entertainment with just a tap and our phone is still available to use as we normally would. It's not tied up or unusable because of the streaming. That's pretty awesome, isn't it?
Chromecast works with the streaming apps we already know and a lot we don't know. There are over 2000 apps that are compatible including Netflix, YouTube, YouTubeTV, and HBO NOW.
We can also start the streaming with via voice. We just say what we want to watch while using a compatible app and control the TV hands-free. Chromecast works seamlessly with Google Home.
Here's an example: “Ok Google, play Stranger Things from Netflix on my living room TV." BAM - that's all there is to it. Honestly, I still remember the days of having to get up and manually change a channel...talk about the dark ages. 😉

Upgrade Your TV for Less- More Pluses

There's no need to buy a new TV and Chromecast is so affordable, you can get one for every TV in the house. It's compatible with existing HDTVs and easily connects with HDMI connectivity.

It has high-speed wireless connectivity and connects to the Internet through your wireless home network provided you already have a wireless router, which in all likelihood, you do.

There are some services that charge a monthly fee/subscription services (like Netflix) so take that into consideration when figuring out how much you'll save, but even with that, my family is still saving quite a chunk of change by making the switch.
Chromecast is the wave of the future, and we're riding it (and loving it!). Find out more and get one today from Best Buy- or buy them now to give as holiday gifts!

  1. I love this idea so much. Sigh. In our efforts to get healthy, we're trying to eliminate using our WiFi as much as possible. It's a challenge, especially with these fabulous new ideas like Chromecast to entice us. xo
