Have you seen whitewashed book stacks and wanted them for your own decor but thought they were hard to make or expensive? Well, they’re not!

Stack of 3 books whitewashed and hand stamped.

Today, I’m going to show you how to make your own Dollar Tree Hand Stamped Book Stack for less than the cost of a cup of Starbucks (or my personal favorite, Dunkin’ Donuts).

This thrifty craft is part of this month’s Thrifty Style Team frugal extravaganza.

How To Make Farmhouse Style White Washed Book Stacks

Supplies:

Books from the Dollar Tree or any paper back books you no longer use or need – make sure they are very similar in size so that they stack nicely

Gesso or any white craft paint

Paint Brush

Twine

Set of Rubber Stamps

Stamp Pad

Directions:

Carefully remove the covers from each book

Paint the spine, front, and back of each book with the Gesso or white paint until you can no longer see the print beneath

Once the paint is dry, use the rubber stamps to write anything you want along the spine.

I wanted mine to spell out one phrase across all three books so put a single word on each book, lining them up (as best I could) along the right side of the spine.

When dry, I added twine to wrap them up together and called it a day!

Here is another set of books I decorated for Christmas – I really do like the look of these and think they would be cute to commemorate your children, their names, and dates of birth as well, you anniversary, or just about anything you can think of!
