I love to bake but sometimes you need ice cream for a celebration. Whether it's a big deal, a birthday, graduation, shower, or some other awesome event, there's an easy, and I do mean easy, way to celebrate in style and make something that's totally customizable with very little effort. I had never heard of this product, The Curious Creamery, before but I will be buying more and making ice cream cakes and ice cream pies for all sorts of occasions. I'm already planning some apple, pumpkin and minty combos for the upcoming holidays - it's that easy to use and that delicious.
You can add almost ANY liquid to it, including alcohol, smoothies, kefir, and create amazing flavors with the liquid and with mix-ins, chocolate, fruit, marshmallows - you name it! The bottom half of the instructions above has a lot more suggestions.
You can find The Curious Creamery in the Celebration Aisle of Walmart.
With The Curious Creamery you can make ice cream with just a third of the fat, calories, and saturated fat of regular ice cream, there are NO preservatives, no artificial colors or flavors, no high-fructose corn syrup, no gluten to name a few things that are missing (a good thing!) and The Curious Creamery is decreasing the carbon footprint while still providing a delicious, awesome and better-for-you product that includes the most indulgent ingredients.
Each box contains two packages (packets). I used one packet for this recipe but it expands so much that it was enough to make two large pies - enough for 16 servings. This is definitely party worthy but because it can be stored in the freezer you can make one dessert/pie/cake now and save one for another day. That's what I did.
