🎁Instructions
This is an overview of the instructions. The full recipe and instructions as well as nutritional information can be found in the recipe card at the bottom of the page.
- First, line a large
baking sheet with parchment paper to minimize mess. Since this won't be going into the oven, you can certainly substitute wax paper. - Measure out the dry ingredients, the Chex cereal, the Cheerios, and the M&Ms, and place into a large Ziploc bag.
- Place the white chocolate into a microwave safe bowl and follow the instructions on the label regarding melting. It's usually about 15 seconds on high, stir, return and repeat until you have beautifully melted chocolate. I have found that different brands have different instructions, so, to ensure the best outcome, read the label (I have been known to ignore this step!).
- Pour the chocolate over the cereal mixture in the bag, seal, and shake it up in the bag. You could use a large mixing bowl if you prefer using a wooden spoon or rubber spatula to gently stir the chocolate into the mix.
- Add the M&M's and holiday sprinkles to the bag and give it a few more gentle shakes.
- Pour the mixture out onto the cookie sheet spreading evenly.
- Place in the refrigerator for about 60 minutes. Remove and break into pieces. Serve!
Hint: leave a useful hint here, like let the grill run for 4-5 minutes to burn off any remnants, then clean it. I like to use this bristle-free barbecue brush (affiliate link) for

🎅Substitutions
- White chocolate chips can be substituted for the white chocolate candy wafers. I have used both and I find that the candy wafers melt much more smoothly and easily. I've been known to burn white chocolate chips when I melt them in the microwave.
☃️ Variations
- Mini peanut butter cups can be used instead of or in addition to the M&M's.
❄️ Equipment
No real special equipment is needed but I have included links to the items below in case you don't already have these items in your kitchen.
- Cookie sheet
- parchment paper
- ramekins for melting chocolate - these are my favorite
🤶 Storage
I find that this gets a bit soft if kept for too long. I like to store it in an airtight container until I'm ready to serve for up to 3 days.
🌟Top tip
You can measure and mix the dry ingredients in advance and keep them in a Ziploc bag. When you're ready to make it, just add the melted chocolate, M&M's, and sprinkles!
